  66. IntheAccessoryeditor,thereisnowanoptiontosetthescreen
  67. savertime.Thismaybefrom1to99minutes.

  69. time,thescreenwillgointo"attract"mode.Inmonochrome,this
  70. simplyinvertsthescreeneveryfewseconds.Incolour,the
  71. colourswillberotated,producingsomepretty,andsome
  72. sickening,screendisplays.Thisveryeffectivelypreventsscreen
  73. "burnin".Theadvantagesofthistypeofscreensaverare:
  74.     1) Noextramemoryrequired.Thereare"pretty"ones,with

  79. damagetoyourmonitor,orcauseyoutoflicktheswitchthinking

  82. MOUSEACCELERATOR
  83. Anotheritemintheeditor,aswellasavailablethroughthe
  84. "mousetrap"functionbothinSupermonandfromtheaccessory.
  85. NORMALisjustthat.FASTistwicethenormalspeedandSUPERis
  86. 4timesnormal.HOWEVER,Supermonsacceleratorisjustthat
  87. touchbetterthananyoneelses(ofcourse).Thisfunctioncanbe
  88. setinanyresolution,butitassumesmovementsinthexandy
  89. directionareformonoscreens.WhenrunninginMEDIUMresolu
  90. tion,Supermonchangesbackagearintheverticalmovement,and
  91. wheninLOWres.,inBOTHhor.andvertical.Inotherwords,Fast
  92. becomesnormalandSuperbecomesFast.Thisissothatregardless
  93. ofresolution,thesamemousetravelwillproducethesamescreen
  94. travel,bothhorizontallyandvertically.
  95. Ifyounormallyworkinlowres,butwishfastermousetravel,
  96. setitforSuper.Thiswillactuallyproducedoublespeedinboth
  97. horizontalandverticalmovements.
  98. SupermonwillacceleratethemouseONLYifyoumoveMOREthen1
  99. pixelpertimeinterval.Thisintervalissetonpowerup,but
  100. maybealteredbyprograms).Thisallowsforslowandaccurate
  101. worktostaythatway,andmakesitpseudoproportional.

  103. HARDDISKGUARDIAN
  104. Anotherpre-setoption.Whenevertheharddiskisnotaccessed
  105. for15seconds,theheadwillbemovedoverthe"landingzone".
  106. Thisisatracksetasideforparking,whichcontainsnodataat
  107. all.THEDISKISNOTPARKEDOR"SHIPPED",simplyputoverthat
  108. position.Ifthepowerisswitchedoff(orfails),itisnow
  109. automaticallyparked.Ifthediskisbumped,itisassafeas
  110. possible.Asthelandingzoneisusuallyclosetothebeginning
  111. ofthedisk,nearthedirectory,notimeiswastedonthenext
  112. diskaccess,infactthereisanoverall(verysmall)timegain.

  114. PARTITIONINFORMATIONANDPARKING
  115. WheninSupermon,callthe'Readsector'function,andsimply
  116. enterrootorROOT.Regardlessofthedriveactuallyselected,
  117. Supermonwillnowreadthesocalledrootsector,containingthe
  118. partitioninformationfortheentireharddisk,whichisNOT
  119. sectorzero.IfyoutypePARKorparkinstead,theharddrive
  120. willbeparked,andformost,willhavetobeswitchedoffthen
  121. onagainbeforefurtheraccess.Thissaveshavingtoreturnto
  122. thedesktopandrunningaparkingprogram.

  126. Stillremainsthecheckingofthebootsectoronpowerup.

  130. detectachangeinthesevectors,(otherthanSupermon

  132. forseveralseconds.Thismeans"heyyou,checkitout".Itwill
  133. thenREMOVEitself,havingfulfilleditstask.Ifyouwere,for
