  11. DESCRIPTION

  13. The screen is repainting slowly.
  14.  
  15. RESOLUTION
  16.  
  17.  1. Download the latest Cirrus Logic video drivers from the IBM
  18.      BBS (919-517-0001).
  19.  
  20.  2. Follow the instructions in the README file to create the
  21.     diskette image using LOADDSKF.
  22.  
  23.  3. At the command prompt, type the following and press Enter
  24.     to install the drivers (x is the drive where OS/2 is
  25.     installed):

  27.        A:SETUP A: x:
  28.  
  29.  4. When prompted, shut down and then restart the system.
  30.  
  31.  5. Open the OS/2 System folder.
  32.  
  33.  6. Open the System Setup folder; then select Display Driver
  34.     Install.
  35.  
  36.  7. Select Primary Display; then select OK.
  37.  
  38.  8. Select Cirrus Logic 5426, 5428, 5430, 5434 (IBM BBS);
  39.     then select OK.
  40.  
  41.  9. Insert the drivers diskette in drive A. When prompted, press
  42.     Install.
  43.  
  44. 10. Select Utility for the Monitor Type when prompted.
  45.  
  46. 11. Insert the diskette that comes with the video card in drive A:
  47.     and type A:\PROMODE.COM and press Enter.
  48.  
  49.     Note: Older video adapters come with CLMODE.COM. If 
  50.           PROMODE.COM does not work, look for CLMODE.COM
  51.           on the diskette that came with the adapter and
  52.           type A:\CLMODE.COM instead. If the system has a
  53.           built-in video chip set, search the entire hard
  54.           disk for the appropriate program by using
  55.           C:>DIR CLMODE*/S or C:>DIR PROMODE*/S.

  57. 12. Select Monitors from the menu.
  58.  
  59. 13. At the end of the list, select Custom.
  60.  
  61.     Note: This is recommended even if the monitor in use is
  62.           listed.
  63.  
  64. 14. Select the each resolution and refresh rate desired.
  65.  
  66.     Note: The 640 x 480 resolution should always be set to a
  67.           60-Hz refresh rate.
  68.  
  69.     A black screen will appear with a message requesting you to
  70.     center the screen using the arrow keys.
  71.  
  72.     Note: If the refresh rate is too high, the message in the
  73.           black screen will be distorted. Press Esc and select
  74.           a lower refresh rate for the same resolution.
  75.  
  76. 15. Select Save and Exit.
  77.  
  78. 16. When prompted, shut down and then restart the system.
  79.  
  80. 17. Open the OS/2 System folder.
  81.  
  82. 18. Open the System Setup folder; then select System and
  83.     choose the resolution desired.

  85. 19. Shut down and then restart the system.
