  6. Migrate to the Desktop with Add Programs

  12. DESCRIPTION
  13.  
  14. ColorWorks (by SPG) and TurboTax (by Intuit) applications do not 
  15. migrate.  
  16.  
  17. When a user selects Add Programs (under OS/2 System -> System Setup), 
  18. and chooses either to "Add New Programs" or to "Search for and Select 
  19. Programs to Add", these applications are neither created on the 
  20. desktop, nor do they appear in the Select Programs list of applications 
  21. to be added to the desktop.  The user must manually create objects for 
  22. these applications.

  24. RESOLUTION
  25.  
  26. The Add Programs utility automatically creates the objects for these 
  27. applications if you do the following:
  28.  
  29. 1. Open an OS/2 Window.
  30.  
  31. 2. From the command prompt, type CD \OS2\INSTALL, then press Enter. 
  32.  
  33. 3. Type TEDIT DATABASE.TXT, then press Enter. 
  34.  
  35. 4. Search for the following section in the file:
  36.  
  37.         TurboTax by Intuit  MAY96
  38.  
  39. 5. At the end of this section, add a blank line after the following 
  40.    line:
  41.  
  42.         SESSION_MODE   FULLSCREEN 
  43.  
  44. 6. Next, search for the following section in the file:
  45.  
  46.         COLORWORKS V2 BY SPG   CD VERSION OS2 JUNE96
  47.  
  48. 7. At the end of this section, add a blank line after the following 
  49.    line:
  50.  
  51.         FOLDER      <WP_APPSFOLDER>
  52.  
  53. 8. Close and save the file (press F4).
  54.  
  55. 9. From the command line, execute the following command:
  56.  
  57.         parsedb dbtags.dat database.txt database.dat (then press Enter)
  58.  
  59. 10. Rerun the Add Programs utility; the two applications do appear.
