  13. DESCRIPTION
  14.  
  15. This document describes how to remove and reinstall the Internet Access 
  16. Kit and TCP/IP.
  17.  
  18. RESOLUTION
  19.  
  20. Note: Make sure you have a backup of any file you intend to change. Any
  21.       information that you want to save must be copied to diskette or
  22.       to another directory before you perform the following procedure.
  23.  
  24.  1. At a command prompt, type E CONFIG.SYS and press Enter to edit the
  25.     CONFIG.SYS file.
  26.  
  27.  2. Remove all references to TCPIP from the following statements:
  28.  
  29.        LIBPATH
  30.        SET PATH
  31.        SET HELP
  32.        SET BOOKSHELF
  33.        Nine lines near the end of the file
  34.  
  35.  3. Save and exit the file.
  36.  
  37.  4. Edit the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and remove all references to TCPIP from
  38.     PATH and a line near the end of the file (unless you have performed
  39.     reinstallation more than once).
  40.  
  41.  5. Save and exit the file.
  42.  
  43.  6. Open the IBM Information Superhighway folder and drag the Internet
  44.     Connection for OS/2 folder to the Shredder to delete it. When
  45.     prompted to reverify the delete choice, select Yes to all.
  46.  
  47.  7. Shut down and then restart the system.
  48.  
  49.  8. Open OS/2 System.
  50.  
  51.  9. Select the Drives icon.
  52.  
  53. 10. Select the drive that contains the TCPIP directory.
  54.  
  55. 11. Find the TCPIP folder and drag it to the Shredder. When prompted to
  56.     reverify the delete choice, select Yes to all until the folder is
  57.     deleted. The Internet Access Kit and TCP/IP are now deleted from
  58.     the system.

  60. 12. Reinstall the Internet Access Kit and TCP/IP from the BonusPak
  61.     using the BonusPak Installation Utility program. Select
  62.     INTERNET - IBM Internet Connection for OS/2 from the BonusPak
  63.     Installation Utility menu.
  64.  
  65. Upon completion of the installation, perform a Retrieve Software 
  66. Updates to get the most recent versions of the utility programs that 
  67. have updates.
