STEPS FOR INSTALLING THE S3 DRIVERS ON THE 9577 SERIES
================================================================
Please Read Entire Document for Full Explanation of Procedures
--------------------------------------------------------------
1. Start the system and open a DOS full screen.
2. Insert the diskette labeled "Local Bus Graphics Device
Drivers" in drive A:.
3. Change to the A: drive. Type:
A: and press Enter.
4. Type: INST7677 and press Enter.
5. At the Main Menu Select:
VESA SVGA BIOS Extention ans Configure Display Profile and
press Enter.
6. Select the appropriate display type and press Enter.
The Enchanted Local Bus Graphics Setup Main Menu appears.
7. Press F3 to exit.
8. Exit the DOS session after exiting the program.
9. Perform Shutdown and restart the system.
10. Close all applications running in the background.
11. Open an OS/2 full screen.
12. Insert diskette labeled "Local Bus Graphics Device Driver"
in drive A:.
13. From the A: prompt type:
A:S3INST A: C:
A:= source directory of the driver
C:= driver where OS/2 is installed
14. Press Enter when prompted.
15. Perform shutdown and restart the system when the process is
completed.
16. Open an OS/2 full screen.
17. At the command line type:
DSPINSTL and press Enter.
18. Select Primary Display then 32 Bit Display drivers.
19. Install using the monitor defaults.
20. Select OK and the monitor flashes when the PMI file is
generated.
21. Select Install. Make sure the device driver diskette is in
the A: drive.
22. Perform shutdown and restart the system when the process is
completed.
When the system starts, the resolution is 640X480X256.
To change the resolution:
1. Open the OS/2 system icon.
2. Open the System Setup folder.
3. Select the System Folder.
The first screen displays the resolutions available for the
system.
4. Select a resolution and close the System Notebook.
5. Perform shutdown and restart the system for the changes to
take place.
