  7.         After installing SVGA support system boots to a black screen
  8.         with a blinking cursor.

  10.         DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:

  12.         Systems will boot to a black screen with a blinking cursor if
  13.         there is a hardware conflict or if the the most recent S3 drivers
  14.         are not being used.

  17.         SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:

  19.         1.      Verify that there are no IRQ or I/O conflicts between the
  20.                 video adapter and other devices.
  21.  
  22.         2.      Make sure that the most recent S3 drivers are in use.

  25.          DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
  26.  
  27.         1.      Verify that no device is using IRQ 2 or I/O address 02E8.
  28.                  IRQ 2 is normally used by devices such as Token
  29.                 Ring adapters, and network cards. I/O address 02E8 is
  30.                 revered for com4.
