  6. DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  7.    The correct operation of Lotus 123 for OS/2, Lotus Freelance Graphics
  8.    for OS/2, and the Lotus License Management Facility are the prime
  9.    considerations in the development of this procedure.
  10.  
  11. SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
  12.    The following is an example of installing LOTUS 123 and Freelance for
  13.    OS/2 in a Domain for use as a Public Application for use by OS/2
  14.    Requester Workstations. Selected items, such as Aliases and drives,
  15.    can be customized for specific circumstances.

  17.    The installation is performed from a Workstation on the Network.

  58.         LOTUS 123 Release 2.1 for OS/2 and LOTUS Freelance Release 2.1,
  59.         NETWORK VERSIONS were installed from a Workstation on the
  60.         Network to the SUITE2 subdirectory on the D: drive of the Server.

  63.         1. LOGON to the SERVER with an ADMINISTRATOR ID
  64.  
  65.             A. In an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session from a
  66.                Workstation on the network, type the following and
  67.                press ENTER:
  68.  
  69.                   LOGON adminid /P:password
  70.  
  71.                where adminid is an Administrator ID and password
  72.                is the proper password for the ID.

  75.         2. OBTAIN ACCESS to the D: DRIVE on the SERVER

  113.             A. In an OS/2 Full Screen session, type NET and depress ENTER.
  114.             B. At the MAIN MENU, select Definitions from the top menu and
  115.                ALIASES from the pull down and FILES from the pop up.
  116.             C. Select NEW on the screen, select ACTIONS from the top menu
  117.                and CREATE from the pull down.
  118.             D. Fill in the panel and press ENTER:

  227.             B. Choose SET from the top menu and set the number of
  228.                licenses purchased for each product.
  229.             C. Choose QUIT from the top menu.

  232.         9. CREATE INITIAL ACCESS CONTROL PROFILE

  234.             A. In an OS/2 Full Screen session, type NET and press
  235.                ENTER to start the Full Screen Interface (FSI).
  236.             B. From the MAIN PANEL, select DEFINITIONS from the top menu,
  237.                ALIASES from the pull down, and FILES from the pop up.
  238.             C. From the MANAGE ALIAS FILES menu, select LOTSUIT2.
  239.             D. Select ACCESS PROFILES from the top menu and CREATE
  240.                from the pull down.
  241.             E. Enter XR in the PERMISSIONS for USERS and press ENTER.
  242.             F. From the  MANAGE ALIAS FILES menu, select LOTSUIT2.
  243.             G. Select ACCESS PROFILES for the top menu, APPLY from the
  244.                pull down and press ENTER.
  245.             H. ESC to the MAIN PANEL.

  248.        10. SETTING ACCESS CONTROL for the LICENSE and 123G DIRECTORIES

  250.             A. From the MAIN PANEL, select DEFINITIONS from the top
  251.                menu and ACCESS CONTROL from the pull down.
  252.             B. Select SERVERS from the top panel and DISPLAY PROFILES
  253.                by SERVER.
  254.             C. Select the same Server name that was used in step 2A.
  255.             D. Locate D:\SUITE2\LOTSHARE and select.
  256.             E. Select ACTIONS from top menu and UPDATE from pull down.
  257.             F. Specify XRWCDAP in PERMISSIONS and press ENTER.
  258.             G. Locate D:\SUITE2\LOTSHARE and select.
  259.             H. Select ACTIONS from top menu and APPLY from pull down

  448.    INSTALLING THE NODE VERSION ON THE CLIENT
  449.

  451.     The following MUST be executed at each user's workstation to gain
  452.     access to Lotus 123 for OS/2, Lotus Freelance for OS/2 and the Lotus
  453.     License Management Facility. The LOGON ID used should NOT be an
  454.     Administrator ID.
  455.

  457.         1. LOGON TO THE DOMAIN CONTROLLER
  458.  
  459.             A. In an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session type the following
  460.                and press ENTER on a Workstation in the Network:
  461.  
  462.                     LOGON userid  /P:password
  463.  
  464.                where userid is the actual userid and password is
  465.                the correct password for the userid entered.
  466.  
  467.  
  468.         2. INSTALLING LOTUS 123 and FREELANCE ON THE WORKSTATION
  469.  
  470.             A. Using a mouse, double click on the Public Applications
  471.                icon on the Desktop.
  472.             B. Double click on the Lotus 123/Freelance 2.1 INSTALL icon.
  473.             C. At the INSTALLATION METHOD window, select NODE
  474.                INSTALLATION and OK.
  475.             D. At the NODEVERSION window, select BOTH VERSIONS.
  476.             E. At the INSTRUCTIONS window, review the information and
  477.                select CONTINUE.
  478.             F. At the INSTALL window, select UPDATE CONFIG.SYS and OK.
  479.             G. At the INSTALL - DIRECTORIES window, verify the
  480.                specifications for the directories.  The following were
  481.                used for this procedure:

  490.             I. Exit the installation.
  491.             J. The Workstation will need to be Shutdown and ReBooted
  492.                before Lotus 123 R2.1 can be used.

  495.         3. INSTALLING DATALENS ON THE WORKSTATION
  496.  
  497.             A. Using a mouse, double click on the Public Applications
  498.                icon on the Desktop.
  499.             B. Double click on the DataLens INSTALL icon.
  500.             C. At the Datalens for OS/2 Install window, review the
  501.                information, select CONTINUE and OK.
  502.             D. Answer the LOTUS NOTES screen as appropriate (for this
  503.                scenario, it was answered NO).
  504.             E. Select NODE and OK.
  505.             F. Enter D: and select OK.
  506.             G. AT the Path to Shared Datalens Files on Server enter
  507.                D:\123G and select OK.
  508.             H. Select the drivers needed (all were selected for this
  509.                scenario).
  510.             I. Complete the series of screens that follow to specify
  511.                the locations of the databases per the information displayed.
  512.             J. At the Path for LOTUS 123 for OS/2 Release 2, enter
  513.                S:\LOTUS\123G and select OK.
  514.             K. Exit the Installation procedure.
  515.             L. Shutdown the workstation and ReBoot the system.
  516.

  518.         The Lotus 123 and/or Freelance icon can now be double clicked
  519.         in the PUBLIC APPLICATIONS folder to utilize the features
  520.         of Lotus 123 and Freelance for OS/2.
  521.  
  522.         It may be desirable to delete the LOTUS APPLICATIONS folder and
  523.         it's contents since the applications will be accessed through
  524.         the Public Application Folder.
