  4.             for OS/2
  5.  
  6. DESCRIPTION OF SYMPTOMS:
  7.    The correct operation of Lotus 123 for OS/2, Lotus Freelance Graphics
  8.    for OS/2  and the Lotus License Management Facility are the prime
  9.    considerations in the development of this procedure.
  10.  
  11. SUMMARY OF RESOLUTION:
  12.    The following is an example of installing LOTUS 123 and Freelance for
  13.    OS/2 in a Domain for use as a Public Application for use by OS/2
  14.    Requester Workstations. Selected items, such as Aliases and drives,
  15.    can be customized for specific circumstances.
  16.  
  17.    The installation is performed from a Workstation on the Network.
  18.  
  19. DETAILS OF RESOLUTION:
  20.    INSTALLING THE PRODUCT
  21.  
  22.         LOTUS 123 Release 2.0a for OS/2 and LOTUS Freelance Releaser 2A,
  23.         NETWORK VERSIONS were installed from a Workstation on the
  24.         Network to the SUITE subdirectory on the D: drive of the Server.
  25.  
  26.  
  27.         1. LOGON to the SERVER with an ADMINISTRATOR ID
  28.  
  29.             A. In an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session from a
  30.                Workstation on the network, type the following and
  31.                press ENTER:
  32.  
  33.                   LOGON adminid /P:password
  34.  
  35.                where adminid is an Administrator ID and password
  36.                is the proper password for the ID.
  37.  
  38.  
  39.         2. OBTAIN ACCESS to the D: DRIVE on the SERVER
  40.  
  41.             A. In an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session type the
  42.                following and press ENTER to connect to the D
  43.                Drive on the Server:
  44.  
  45.                   NET USE S: \\servername\D$
  46.  
  47.                where servername is the Server Name of the Server
  48.                where the application will be installed.
  49.  
  50.             B. To switch to the redirected S Drive, type the following
  51.                and press ENTER:

  55.             C. Create the directories where the product and licenses
  56.                will be installed by doing the following:
  57.  
  58.                   - type MD SUITE and press ENTER
  59.                   - type CD SUITE and press ENTER
  60.                   - type MD LOTSHARE and press ENTER
  61.                   - type CD LOTSHARE and press ENTER
  62.                   - type MD 123G.V20 and press ENTER
  63.                   - type MD FLG.V20 and press ENTER

  66.             D. Switch to the C drive by typing C: and pressing ENTER.

  68.             E. Disconnect from the redirected drive by typing the
  69.                following and pressing ENTER:

  74.         3. CREATE the ALIASES
  75.  
  76.             A. In an OS/2 Full Screen session, type NET and depress ENTER.
  77.             B. At the MAIN MENU, select Definitions from the top menu and
  78.                ALIASES from the pull down and FILES from the pop up.
  79.             C. Select NEW on the screen, select ACTIONS from the top menu
  80.                and CREATE from the pull down.
  81.             D. Fill in the panel and press ENTER:

  83.                 ALIAS                   LOTSUITE
  84.                 DESCRIPTION             Describe the Alias as desired
  85.                 SERVER NAME             Depress F4 and select the Server
  86.                                         name that was used in Step 2A
  87.                 SERVER PATH             D:\SUITE
  88.                 SHARED                  AT SERVER STARTUP is recommended
  89.                                         but AS REQUIRED BY USER is O.K.

  91.             E. At the Manage Aliases Panel, select NEW on the screen,
  92.                select ACTIONS from the top menu and CREATE from the pull
  93.                down.
  94.             F. Fill in the panel and press ENTER:

  96.                 ALIAS                   LICENSE
  97.                 DESCRIPTION             Describe the Alias as desired
  98.                 SERVER NAME             Depress F4 and select the Server
  99.                                         name that was used in Step 2A
  100.                 SERVER PATH             D:\SUITE\LOTSHARE
  101.                 SHARED                  AT SERVER STARTUP is recommended
  102.                                         but AS REQUIRED BY USER is O.K.

  104.             G. Exit the Full Screen Interface (REQ).

  107.         4. OBTAIN the DRIVES to the ALIASES
  108.  
  109.             A. In an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session do the
  110.                following:
  111.  
  112.                   - type NET USE S: LOTSUITE
  113.                   - type NET USE T: LICENSE
  114.  
  115.  
  116.         5. INSTALLING the LOTUS 123 PRODUCT
  117.  
  118.             A. Insert Disk 1(Install) of LOTUS 123 in the Drive A.
  119.             B. In OS/2 Window or Full Screen session do the following:
  120.  
  121.                   type A: and press ENTER
  122.                   type INSTALL and press ENTER
  123.  
  124.             C. Type N for Installing the Network Edition and press ENTER.
  125.             D. Press ENTER after reviewing the information.
  126.             E. Type owner Name, press ENTER, type Organization, press
  127.                ENTER, verify the information and press ENTER.
  128.             F. Specify the Server disk as S and press ENTER.
  129.             G. Press ENTER at the Specify Your Program Directory panel.
  130.             H: Follow the instructions in the panels for the remainder
  131.                of the Installation.
  132.             I. Exit the installation when complete.

  135.         6. INSTALLING DATALENS (Optional)
  136.  
  137.             A. Insert the DATALENS Driver diskette in Drive A.
  138.             B. In OS/2 Window or Full Screen session do the following:
  139.  
  140.                   type A: and press ENTER
  141.                   type INSTALL and press ENTER
  142.  
  143.             C. Press ENTER after reviewing the information.
  144.             D. Specify S as the Hard Disk and press ENTER.
  145.             E. Ensure that the Program Directory is S:\LOTUS\123G and
  146.                press ENTER.
  147.             F. Specify the DATALENS product desired and press ENTER.
  148.                of the Installation.
  149.             G. Add additional DATALENS products as desired.
  150.             H. Exit the installation when complete.

  153.         7. INSTALLING the LOTUS FREELANCE PRODUCT
  154.  
  155.             A. Insert Disk 1(Install) of LOTUS Freelance in the Drive A.
  156.             B. In OS/2 Window or Full Screen session do the following:

  158.                   type A: and press ENTER
  159.                   type INSTALL and press ENTER
  160.  
  161.             C. Type N for Installing the Network Edition and press ENTER.
  162.             D. Press ENTER after reviewing the information.
  163.             E. Type owner Name, press ENTER, type Organization, press
  164.                ENTER, verify the information and press ENTER.

  172.         8. SETTING the LICENSES PURCHASED
  173.  
  174.             A. In an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session, type the
  175.                following and press ENTER:

  177.                   S:\LOTUS\123G\COUNT
  178.  
  179.             B. Choose SET from the top menu and set the number of
  180.                licenses purchased for each product.
  181.             C. Choose QUIT from the top menu.

  184.         9. CREATE INITIAL ACCESS CONTROL PROFILE
  185.  
  186.             A. In an OS/2 Full Screen session, type NET and press
  187.                ENTER to start the Full Screen Interface (FSI).
  188.             B. From the MAIN PANEL, select DEFINITIONS from the top menu,
  189.                ALIASES from the pull down, and FILES from the pop up.
  190.             C. From the MANAGE ALIAS FILES menu, select LOTSUITE.
  191.             D. Select ACCESS PROFILES from the top menu and CREATE
  192.                from the pull down.
  193.             E. Enter XR in the PERMISSIONS for USERS and press ENTER.
  194.             F. From the  MANAGE ALIAS FILES menu, select LOTSUITE.
  195.             G. Select ACCESS PROFILES for the top menu, APPLY from the
  196.                pull down and press ENTER.
  197.             H. ESC to the MAIN PANEL.

  200.        10. SETTING ACCESS CONTROL for the LICENSE DIRECTORIES
  201.  
  202.             A. From the MAIN PANEL, select DEFINITIONS from the top
  203.                menu and ACCESS CONTROL from the pull down.
  204.             B. Select SERVERS from the top panel and DISPLAY PROFILES
  205.                by SERVER.
  206.             C. Select the same Server name that was used in step 2A.
  207.             D. Locate D:\SUITE\LOTSHARE and select.
  208.             E. Select ACTIONS from top menu and UPDATE from pull down.
  209.             F. Specify XRWCDAP in PERMISSIONS and press ENTER.
  210.             G. Locate D:\SUITE\LOTSHARE and select.
  211.             H. Select ACTIONS from top menu and APPLY from pull down
  212.                and press ENTER.
  213.             I. ESC to the MAIN PANEL.

  215.            NOTE: Access Control Profiles may need to be created for those
  216.                  directories that will contain the Data/Document files.

  219.        11. DEFINING LOTUS 123 INSTALL as a PUBLIC APPLICATION

  222.                menu and APPLICATIONS from the pull down.

  224.             C. Select NEW, ACTION from the top menu and CREATE from the

  226.             D. At the CREATE OS/2 APPLICATIONS DETAILS panel, fill in

  395.    STEPS AT EACH WORKSTATION

  398.     The following must be executed at each user's workstation to gain
  399.     access to Lotus 123 for OS/2, Lotus Freelance for OS/2 and the Lotus
  400.     License Management Facility. The LOGON ID used should NOT be an
  401.     Administrator ID.
  402.

  404.         1. LOGON TO THE DOMAIN CONTROLLER
  405.  
  406.             A. In an OS/2 Window or Full Screen session type the following
  407.                and press ENTER on a Workstation in the Network:
  408.  
  409.                     LOGON userid  /P:password
  410.  
  411.                where userid is the actual userid and password is
  412.                the correct password for the userid entered.

  415.         2. INSTALLING LOTUS 123 for OS/2 ON THE WORKSTATION
  416.  
  417.             A. Using a mouse, double click on the Public Applications
  418.                icon on the Desktop.
  419.             B. Double click on the Lotus 123 INSTALL icon.
  420.             C. Press ENTER after reviewing panel.
  421.             D. Specify which drive the Node installation will reside
  422.                and press ENTER.
  423.             E. Specify the directory and press ENTER.
  424.             F. Press ENTER to continue after the files have been
  425.                transferred.
  426.             G. Specify the Work directory and press ENTER.
  427.             H. Specify the Templates directory and press ENTER.
  428.             I. Specify the Backup directory and press ENTER.
  429.             J. Specify the Temp directory and press ENTER.
  430.             K. Press ENTER to continue.
  431.             L. Specify Keyboard Speed and press ENTER.
  432.             M. Press ENTER after reviewing panel to modify CONFIG.SYS.
  433.             N. Press ENTER after reviewing the Information pop up.
  434.             O. Answer N to Add to Workplace Shell Folder and press
  435.                ENTER.
  436.             P. Press F3 to Quit Install.
  437.             Q. The Workstation will need to be Shutdown and ReBooted
  438.                before Lotus 123 for OS/2 can be used.

  441.         3. INSTALLING LOTUS FREELANCE for OS/2 ON THE WORKSTATION

  468.         The Lotus 123 and/or Freelance icon can now be double clicked
  469.         in the PUBLIC APPLICATIONS folder to utilize the features
  470.         of Lotus 123 and Freelance for OS/2.
