  47.   |      1. RESOLVING A SYS1201 PROBLEM WITH SLDC DRIVER.

  55.   | A. If the machine is an ISA bus machine (IBM AT or equivalent
  56.   |    regardless of processor) then the following limitations
  57.   |    apply:
  58.   |
  59.   |    1. The SDLC Driver cannot be used at the same time
  60.   |       as the OS/2 {SERIAL} mouse device driver or the
  61.   |       asynchronous  device driver.
  62.   |    2. An SDLC device driver and an Asynchronous adapter
  63.   |       cannot be used concurrently.
  64.   |
  65.   |    In either of the cases above, please comment out all mouse
  66.   |    device drivers and asynchronous device drivers in the
  67.   |    config.sys file and reboot the machine.
  68.   |
  69.   |    Note: Some Personal Computer Manufacturers (PCM) have
  70.   |    unique system startup procedures which allocate the COM1
  71.   |    and COM2 ports PRIOR to the config.sys file execution.
  72.   |    Please check with your PCM manufacturer to ensure that
  73.   |    the COM1 and COM2 ports are not pre-allocated.

  76.   | B. Ensure that the R0CSDD.SYS device driver statement
  77.   |    precedes the SDLCDD.SYS device driver statement in
  78.   |    the config.sys file.
  79.   |

  81.   | C. Ensure that no other cards or applications in the
  82.   |    machine are using Interrupt levels 3 or 4
  83.   |    (IRQ3 or IRQ4) for communication.
  84.   |    The SDLCDD.SYS device driver requires IRQ3 and IRQ4 for
  85.  
  86.  
  87.   |    communications.

  90.   | D. Ensure that no other card in the machine is configured
  91.   |    with a port address of 380-38F.  This address is reserved
  92.   |    for SDLC and/or BISYNC Communications by architecture.

  95.   | E. Ensure that the SDLCDD.SYS device statement appears only
  96.   |    one time in the config.sys file.

  99.   | F. If the problem is unresolved by items A through E
  100.   |    listed above then the fix for APAR JR06460 may be needed.
