  3. OS2CSERV.FAX                                USING COMPUSERVE BBS
  4.

  6. All drivers/files with the extension of .ZIP will need to use
  7. PKUNZIP to unzip which can be downloaded if needed.  CompuServe
  8. is for members or if registering for membership (fee based).

  12. Process Document for Downloading Files from Compuserve
  13.  
  14. 1. Document is based on assumption that the necessary hardware
  15.    and software are available, and you're logged into CompuServe.
  16.    (Instructions for logging on are included in introductory
  17.    documentation that CompuServe sends its customers.)
  18. 2. At the ! prompt, type GO IBMOS2 OPress ENTERt.
  19. 3. A menu will
  20.    appear with OS/2 forums.  Select either Support forum or User
  21.    forum by pressing the 1 or 2 key OPress ENTERt.
  22. 4. The relevant OS/2 files are in library 17 of either forum.
  23.    Type:  LIB 17 OPress ENTERt.
  24. 5. If you know the name of file you are looking for, verify that
  25.    it is there by typing DIR OFilenamet OPress ENTERt.
  26. 6. If the file is not found, try typing DIR, followed by a space,
  27.    followed by the first couple of characters in the filename,
  28.    followed by a * OPress ENTERt.  For example, to find the file
  29.    COMMGA.ZIP, type DIR CO* OPress ENTERt.
  30. 7. To download file, type download OFilenamet OPress ENTERt at
  31.    the LIB 17!  prompt.
  32. 8. A protocol prompt will appear.  In CompuServe, CIS B is
  33.    usually best, but experimentation may be necessary, and the
  34.    communications software must support whatever protocol is
  35.    chosen. Choose the protocol Opress ENTERt.
  36. 9. Select matching protocol in the communication software.
  37. 10.Downloading should commence.  File is located in whatever
  38.    default directory has been set by communication package (or
  39.    user directory if such a thing has been previously modified).
  40. 11.  Repeat steps 5 - 10 until all files needed are downloaded.
