  1. Install       Installing RexxNews

  4. RexxNews requires that the rxSock package from the IBM Employee Written
  5. Software program be installed on your system.
  6.  
  7. To install RexxNews, place the RexxNews.CMD and RxNewsML.CMD files in a 
  8. directory that is in your path, along with all of the .RXN files included 
  9. in the archive.  The .RXN files are the help screens for RexxNews.

  11. RexxNews uses a file named REXXNEWS.CFG to load its default values.  There
  12. should be a file named SAMPLE.CFG in the archive that is the author's
  13. REXXNEWS.CFG file.  You can place this file in the directory with the RexxNews
  14. executables or your TCPIP 1.2.1 %ETC% directory.  See HELP CONFIG
  15. (CONFIG.RXN) for details.

  17. Some of the help pages may have filenames that are longer than 8 characters.
  18. On FAT partitions, UNZIP will truncate these to 8 characters.  RexxNews 
  19. will correctly handle either the long or short filenames.  Any files created
  20. by RexxNews will obey the FAT 8.3 naming conventions.
