Hello everyone:
Well...here it is, version 1.1. I hope this version fixes many of the
problems for you all. I have good news. My job says I can fix bugs over the
summer, so long as I don't add features...so we'll see what happens.
Thanks for your interest in PMMail and thanks for your patience. I have
committed a lot of time trying to make PMMail the best it can be. Of
course, there is always room for improvement, so I welcome your comments
at rrn@po.cwru.edu.
To install PMMail, just place the contents of this zip, PMMAIL.EXE and
PMMAIL.HLP into a directory (Generally, X:\PMMAIL) and run the executable
from that directory. NOTE: you must be in the directory when you run
PMMail because it self installs, and will root itself down wherever the
working directory is. When you first run PMMail, it will complain that
it can't find FOLDERS.INI and it will ask if this is a new installation.
Answer yes to the question.
Once PMMail is open, open the configuration for networking and complete it.
It is under the PMMail->Configure menu.
Once you have done this, just explore. I realize the help may not be
perfect, but my mail client (unlike UMail) is fairly straight forward,
so what I provide should be enough. :)
I hope you like PMMail. If you have any bug reports, please send them
to me with the phrase 'PMMail Bug:' in the title. If you have a feature
request, plaease send it to me with the phrase 'PMMail request:' in the title.
I will generally reply within a day or two.
There are some known incompatibilities with OS/2 2.x. The problems all have to
do with PM API calls not bahving the same way they do under warp. These
problems manifest themselves in folders not appearing until after a restart,
etc... It's not that big of a deal, just kind of annoying.
Thanks for trying PMMail.
If you would like to register, please see "Registration Information" in the
help file, or select "Register PMMail" Under the PMMail menu.
If you are already registered, please send e-mail to rrn@po.cwru.edu. I
have changed the way the program is registered. It now uses a Key that
is generated off your name. The program will then be registered to you.
Since I have changed this, you will need to e-mail me to get your key.
This key will be good for all versions which are free to you (all 1.x
revisions).
