ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 1. Main window ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The main window allows you to make the most important settings directly by
using the respective functions. For a more detailed printer setup use the
dialog boxes.
When you click on the OK button you will exit the driver; the most important
settings will be saved.
When you click on the Cancel button you will exit the driver; any changes,
however, will not be saved.
When you click on the Help button a help text for this window will be
displayed. When you press the F1 key a help text for the active element will
be displayed.
--> Paper source, Paper format, Print image, Portrait/Landscape, Copies,
Options, Warp 4, True Color, Settings, Info
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 2. Main window: Paper formats ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Line wraps will be correct only if the format settings in the driver match
those of the printer. Therefore, you have to specify here the paper format
loaded into the printer.
Use the selection field "Paper format" to load a predefined paper format.
Use the associated button "╨┐" to open the dialog box Paper formats, where you
can define new paper formats.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 3. Main window: Portrait/Landscape ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use these buttons to specify the orientation of your printout:
Portrait: The document is printed in portrait orientation.
Landscape: The printout will be rotated by 90┬░. This function is
particularly important when using printers which are not able to
load paper with the wide side first. If you select the format A4
Landscape in your application program and A4 in the driver, you
can print documents in Landscape orientation.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 4. Main window: Copies ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
In this field you can enter the number of copies you want to print. The printer
driver will create the copies, so that the application program does not have to
send the print data multiple times for each copy.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 5. Main window: Options ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
You open the dialog box Printer options.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 6. Main window: Setting ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
When you click on the button "Settings" you open the dialog box Settings. In
this dialog box you can load and save the current settings.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 7. Main window: Info ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This dialog box displays information about the version number and the date of
the driver. The dialog box also contains the copyright note.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 8. Main window: Warp 4 ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Under Warp Version 4.0, some applications mix up blue and green. This error may
occur if your application uses palette colors and the driver is in true color
mode.
The error may be already fixed in your version.
On: Suppress error.
Off: Don't suppress error.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 9. Main window: True Color ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Here you specify which color rendition the driver offers the system and your
applications.
On: True Color mode with 24 bit per pixel. This mode with 16,777,216 colors
enables the best possible presentation of colors or gray scales.
Off: Palette mode with mit 8 bit per pixel. This mode with 256 colors saves
memory and computing time.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 10. Main window: Paper source ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Select the paper source you want to use. Depending on the printer model and the
Options you can select one of the various paper sources.:
Manual feed: Load each sheet of paper separately into the printer.
Before printing a new page the Print Manager prompts you to
load a new sheet of paper.
Bin 1: The printer loads the paper from bin 1 of the cut sheet feeder.
Bin 2: The printer loads the paper from bin 2 of the cut sheet feeder.
Bin 1/2: The printer loads the first sheet from bin 1, all other sheets
will be loaded from bin 2.
Tractor: The printer loads continuous paper from the tractor unit .
--> Relation of Options, Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 11. Main window: Print image ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option lets you adapt the print image to your requirements on print
quality or print speed.
Use the selection field "Print image" to load one of the predefined print image
settings.
When you click on the associated button "╨┐" the dialog box Print image, opens,
where you can define new print image settings.
--> Main window
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 12. Print image ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This option lets you define the parameters for controlling the print image.
Selection: Assign a name to the specified print image or select one of
the predefined print images.
Resolution: Use this option to specify the resolution for graphics
printing.
Print quality: Select the print quality of the printer's built-in fonts.
Ribbon cartridge: Specify here, whether the printer shall support color
printing. This is not possible if the list box only offers
the setting Monochrome.
OK: When you select the OK button you exit the dialog box. All
settings will be saved.
Cancel: When you select the Cancel button you exit the dialog box.
However, any changes will not be saved.
Delete: When you select the Delete button the setting displayed in
the field "Selection" will be deleted.
--> Raster graphics
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 13. Print image: Raster graphics ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
ESC/P2 printers are equipped with a special raster graphics mode. This mode
reduces the amount of data to be transferred and increases the print speed.
When printing in raster graphics mode the printer acts like a pure graphics
printer; in this mode the printer's built-in fonts are not available.
If you want to use the printer's built-in fonts select one of the resolution
settings without (raster).
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 14. Settings ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
The dialog box Settings allows you to load and save all printer driver
settings. Enter a name and click on the Load or Save button.
Name: Enter a name for the printer driver configuration.
Delete: When you click on this button the selected driver settings will
be deleted. These settings can no longer be activated.
Load: After you have selected the name, click on this button to load
the settings and exit the dialog box.
Save: After you have entered the desired name, click on this button to
save the settings and exit the dialog box.
Cancel: When you select the Cancel button you will exit the dialog box.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 15. Paper formats ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
This dialog box offers additional possibilities for specifying the paper
format.
Format: Use this function to select one of the predefined formats or
choose the last entry User-defined to define your own format.
Measuring unit: Use this function to set the measuring unit valid for entries
and output.
Size: This field displays the exact size.
Margins: This field shows the margins set by the printer. The
printable area is the result of subtracting the margins from
the size.
OK: When you click on the OK button you will exit the dialog box.
All settings will be saved.
Cancel: When you click on the Cancel button you will exit the dialog
box; any changes, however will not be saved.

Use this dialog box to define and customize your own paper formats.
Paper format: Select one of the existing names or enter a new name.
Delete: When you click on this button you will delete the selected
paper format.
Size: Enter the size of your format.
Measuring unit: Use this function to set the measuring unit valid for entries
and output.
OK: When you click on the OK button you will exit the dialog box.
All settings will be saved.
Cancel: When you click on the Cancel button you will exit the dialog
box; any changes, however, will not be saved.
--> Continuous paper
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 17. Define a format: Continuous paper ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Enter the paper width which can be used for printing (the area between the
perforation), not the total width.
A wrong page length will multiply with each page. For example, if the page
length differs only by 0.1 mm, the top of form offset after printing 100 pages
will be 10 mm.
The distance between 2 holes of the perforation is 1/2 inch.
Usually the page length of continuous paper is a multiple of 1/2 inch or 1/6
inch. In most cases, the measuring units Inch or 1/72 inch are suited best.
ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ 18. Printer options ΓòÉΓòÉΓòÉ
Use this dialog box to adapt the driver settings to the printer's options.
Printer model: The name of your printer model is displayed.
Paper feeder: This selection field offers settings for single sheet
printing. When printing on continuous paper (tractor unit) it
is not necessary to make any settings. This setting
influences the selection field Paper source in the main
window.
--> Relation of Options
OK: When clicking on the OK button you will exit the dialog box.
All settings will be saved.
Cancel: When clicking on the Cancel button you will exit the dialog
box; any changes, however, will not be saved.
