  1. Danmar Systems, Inc. has introduced the OS/2 version of the SCSISCAN
  2. software. The OS/2 version of the SCSISCAN software allows the use
  3. of the ScanJet IIp or IIc scanners with any SCSI controller that
  4. has an ADD file under OS/2. There is currently ADD support for most
  5. major manufacturer of SCSI controllers. This includes Adaptec,
  6. UltraStor, Always, Trantor, DPT, and several others. The SCSISCAN
  7. software consists of an ASPI module (driver) that works in conjunction
  8. with the OS2ASPI.DMD device manager to allow any scanner application,
  9. including DeskScan, to access the scanner regardless of which SCSI
  10. controller is used. Using the driver also allows the scanner to be
  11. controlled by some parallel-to-SCSI converters that have ADD support.
  12. This allows the scanners to be attached to the parallel port of
  13. notebook computers that do not have a slot in which to put a SCSI
  14. controller. The software includes an installation program to make
  15. installation easier. The price for the software is $89.95. There is
  16. an upgrade offer from the DOS/Windows version of the SCSISCAN software
  17. for only $29.95.
