Version 1.0
by
Brad Wardell
Stardock Systems, Inc.
Are you an OS/2 ISV looking for places to carry your brand new OS/2 app?
Are you an OS/2 user that want to know where to get commercial OS/2 software?
PLEASE DISTRIBUTE THIS FILE ANYWHERE YOU CAN. OS/2 users everywhere should
be able to find software conveniently!
Here is the list of known stores or mail order houses that carry OS/2 software.
If you would like us to add a particular reseller to the list, drop a line to
SDSANG@ibm.net.
A list of distributors is also included.
RESELLERS/RETAILERS
----------------------------------------------------------------
UNITED STATES
Comment: per capita, the US is not the most pro-OS/2 country but
definitely has the largest overall market.
Indelible Blue
1-800-776-8284
Comment: They know the OS/2 market. If there is an OS/2 app,
they have it. The world-wide market leader for reselling OS/2
software.
J3 Computer Technologies
909-985-6780
Comment: Smaller selection but sometimes have the best prices.
Kiyo Design
410-280-1942
Email: Hamasaki@capaccess.org
Comments: This is one of the few OS/2-ONLY stores in the world.
If you live in their area you should contact them. They have
great pricing, OS/2 hardware and more.
CompUSA
1-800-CompUSA
Comment: While they may not always be good at restocking
their inventory, they do carry OS/2 software and often
times at pricing below mail order surprisingly.
WWW: www.compusa.com
MicroCenter
Comment: This superstore is really super. They have a
wide selection of OS/2 software at great prices and they
are very pro-OS/2
CosmOS/2
1-602-864-7616
Comment: Another great OS/2 only store. The storeowner
is very pro-active in the market and a reliable source
for any product. If you live in the Arizona area, stop
by.
OS+ Resource

Email: OSPlus@Netcom.com
Comment: One of the rising stars in the fast growing
OS/2 reseller market. They are quickly becoming a major
force in the reseller market with consistant advertising
in OS/2 Magazine. They also have very competitive pricing.
CANADA
Comment: Canada has a huge OS/2 user base per capita but
not many OS/2 resellers. However, there are two that I
know of: one on the west and one on the east.
Below Zero
Comment:
I don't have their phone number but they maintain a
very good web site. They made it big in the OS/2 market
a couple years ago by being one of the first to carry
Borland C++
House of Technology
Comment: Not just a reseller but a distributor in Canada.
416-620-7970
Doppler Computers, Vancouver, BC
604-875-0261
Comment: Has a decent selection.
AUSTRALIA
Comment: There are a few Australian resellers but we
don't know who they all are.
Frankson Information Management
+61-2-9988-3081
Comment: Not a reseller but a distributor really but
a good place to get information on OS/2 software and
find out a local store near you. They are also known
as "Stardock downunder" as they work more closely with
Stardock than ANY distributor in the world (including
USA).
Multitasking Consulting:
Comment: I don't have their phone number but they do
sell OS/2 software.
GERMANY
Comment: The 2nd largest market for OS/2 and the largest
per capita. Stardock made a native German version of
Object Desktop because of the huge German market. Home
of Vobis, probably the largest OS/2 preloader in the world.
NOVAStar:
+08-21-44-44-976
Comment: One of the most successful resellers/distributors
in Germany.
EDV Beratung
+49-6183-9165-0
Comment: Richard Clement's company has quickly risen to
be a major force in the OS/2 reseller market.
Softworld
Comment: One of the major advertisers in OS/2 Inside,
the premiere OS/2 publication in Germany. This magazine
is so good that Stardock occasionally translates it to
English for reading purposes.
THE NETHERLANDS
Comment: While it may be a small country, its residents
definitely seem to know a good OS when they see one.
The Netherland's main reseller MenSys has sold a lot of
OS/2 software.
MenSys
+31-23-547-08-37
Comment: A major distributor/reseller in The Netherlands.
GREAT BRITAIN
Comment: Home of Escom which preloads Object Desktop.
OneStop Softawre (in Bristol)
0117-985-3370
Comment: Truly a onestop store for OS/2 apps in Britain.
JAPAN:
Comment: Japan is a very large OS/2 market as well. The
#4 country in the world for Stardock as far as sales volumes
go.
ASR:
Comment: I don't have their phone number presently but they
do sell a lot of OS/2 softawre including Galactic Civilizations
and Object Desktop Japanese Version (the manual is in Japanese).
