  4. Traditional Chinese version OS/2 2.1 was awarded one of the "Best 10
  5. Chinese Information Products, 1993" out of about 100 candidates.
  6. Finalists were selected by a group of 15 reputable arbitrators coming
  7. from research, education, development, industry and press.

  9. Traditional Chinese OS/2 2.1 was the only PC system software to receive
  10. this honor out of the seven software vendors who were included in the
  11. competition.  Innovation, contribution to the industry and the value
  12. to the Chinese people were some of the criteria used to evaluate the
  13. candidates.

  15. Traditional Chinese OS/2 2.1 provides more friendly input methods, Big-5
  16. code and code conversion utility, outline font, TrueType font manager,
  17. Epson ESC/P and HP PCL/4 and PCL/5 Chinese printing, and Chinese Windows
  18. environment on top of excellent muti-thread muti-tasking and MVDM
  19. capability. The vivid presentation and demonstration convinced the
  20. arbitrators OS/2 2.1 is the best Chinese system product for personal
  21. users.

  23. The contest was held by Taiwan Information Month Activity Executive
  24. Committee, executed by CMEX (Chinese Micro-Computer Extended Foundation)
  25. and supported by III (Institute for Information Industry), China Daily
  26. and InfoPro magazine.
