IBM WorkSpace On-Demand Promotion

At a Glance
New or existing Software Advantage customers who purchase a minimum
of $500,000, based on suggested retail price (SRP), of WorkSpace
On-Demand, OS/2 Warp 4, or OS/2 Warp Server are eligible to receive,
at no additional charge, one of the following:
1. Enhanced Support Services to assist with WorkSpace On-Demand Proof
of Concept pilot
2. Extension of defect support for OS/2 Warp 3 or OS/2 Warp Connect
for one year
o Final Order Date: November 28, 1997
o Final Date of Installation: December 31, 1997
o Final Date for Services to be Completed: June 30, 1998

For a limited time only, new or existing Software Advantage customers
who purchase a minimum of $500,000, based on suggested retail price
(SRP), of WorkSpace On-Demand, OS/2 (R) Warp 4, or OS/2 Warp Server
are eligible to receive, at no additional charge, one of the
following:
1. Enhanced Support Services to assist with WorkSpace On-Demand Proof
of Concept pilot
2. Extension of defect support for OS/2 Warp 3 or OS/2 Warp Connect
for one year
For customers who are not currently participating in Software
Advantage, this transaction, done as the initial order of an
Advantage agreement, will qualify them for this promotion and enroll
them in Software Advantage so they are eligible to receive a 35%
discount on this order, and a 35% guaranteed minimum discount for the
two-year Software Advantage agreement term. (Refer to Software
Announcement
295-300,
dated June 20, 1995, for the original Software Advantage for
Workstations announcement and Software Announcement
297-106,
dated April 22, 1997, for the latest enhancements, including an
agreement renewal option).
Orders must be placed on or before November 28, 1997. The Date of
Installation, as defined in the IBM Customer Agreement must occur on
or after August 26, 1997, but no later than December 31, 1997.
This promotion is available only in the United States and Puerto
Rico.
If you are a commercial, state or local government, or education
customer, you can participate. If you are a federal government
customer, call 800-333-6705 to determine eligibility. State and
local government Software Advantage customers, and federal Software
Advantage customers who qualify for this promotion will receive a 45%
discount on this transaction. (Refer to Software Announcement
297-106,
dated April 22, 1997, for details regarding the Software Advantage
for Workstations federal, state, and local government option.)
Educational institutions participating in Software Advantage will
receive a 60% discount on this transaction. (Refer to Software
Announcement
297-258,
dated July 8, 1997, IBM Workstation Software Offering for
Educational Institutions for details.)
IBM reserves the right to modify or withdraw this promotion at any
time.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Enhanced Support Services provided by the Personal Software
Products Rapid Deployment Team, can include planning and/or
proof-of-concept pilot for a single application, for a maximum of
three weeks, at a customer location anywhere in the United States,
for the following service offerings:
Proof-of-Concept:
o Install a server and a set of network clients
o Install a single application
o Create a test to define the criteria for success
o Develop a follow-on Statement of Work
Planning, Installation, Configuration:
o Planning
- Logistics
- Network Topology
- Hardware/Software Requirements Definition
- Skills Requirements Definition
- High-Level Implementation Plan
o Installation, Configuration
- WorkSpace On-Demand, plus associated middleware
- Connection to Host
- Applications

- Roll-out Plan
- Customer Cookbook
These services must be completed on or before June 30, 1998.
For customers who choose to extend defect support for OS/2 Warp 3 or
OS/2 Warp Connect, the no-charge extension will apply from
September 30, 1997 to September 30, 1998. (This extended defect
support must be selected in place of the Enhanced Support Services
described above.)
