Overview
IBM Workstation Interactive Test Tool (WITT) Year 2000 for OS/2 (R)
Version 3.0 offers you powerful tools that make application test
activities more productive.
WITT Year 2000 can improve productivity of Year 2000 projects most
effectively; however, you can use this tool in any type of projects.
WITT Year 2000 provides the following test tool:
Auto Test Performer
The automation of tests has been one of the critical requirements
from the viewpoint of optimization of human resources in test
activities. Auto Test Performer of WITT Year 2000, the successor of
WITT Version 2, can emulate a user's operation through user
interfaces of application programs and execute a recorded test
scenario automatically.
With "Recorder" of the Auto Test Performer, user operations by
keyboard are recorded in a "script" file, which "Player" replays
automatically. You can capture the image of a screen and compare
expected and actual images. You can put the scripts in a batch file
and perform unattended test execution.
Auto Test Performer offers record, playback, and comparison
capability for S/390 (R) or AS/400 (R) applications developed with
COBOL, PL/I, or other languages through 3270 or 5250 screens on OS/2.
Note: WITT Year 2000 is a subset of VisualAge (R) for COBOL, Test for
OS/2 Version 1.2, and is not appropriate for users of VisualAge for
COBOL, Test for OS/2 Version 1.2.

ORDERING INFORMATION
Some changes have been made to the terminology used for IBM software.
These changes do not affect terms and conditions, charges, or
ordering processes.
Key elements are:
o License: The license shows rights and obligations that complement
copyright protection provided by law, and applies to all use of
IBM software.
o Charging: IBM software is charged according to the number of Use
Authorizations acquired. Definition of this use and its
associated charges for a given product are stated in the product
announcement. Use Authorizations come with the program package or
are available separately, and may be for users or resources. They
are reflected as Proofs of Entitlement (PoE), provided by IBM.
Use Authorizations continue to be available for some products in
use-packs of 1, 5, 10, and 50.
o Supply of Code: The software program itself will be available in
various forms; for example, on magnetic media, CD-ROM, or
electronically. This supply is accompanied by a Use
Authorization.
The following highlights the key changes.
