  75. Using the scanpci program, I determined that my 3Com card was using IRQ11
  76. also, even though Aurora does not recognize it at startup. I tried something
  77. similar to your suggestion, at bootup I disabled my IDE interface in the BIOS
  78. (as my machine is all SCSI) and now the 3Com card shows up on scanpci using
  79. IRQ15 instead. But alas, Aurora still does not recognioze it. Any ideas?

  96. Hope anyone can be of assistance.  I am attempting to install the Xircom
  97. CEM56-100BTX  (I believe this is the card I am trying to install, is
  98. says on the back of the card CEM56-100) PCMCIA Network/Modem Card in
  99. Warp4 on an IBM TP 380 ED.  In using the xem100_1.exe driver package
  100. from the Xircom site I extract the files and appear to load it okay in
  101. MPTS.  The card services appears to see the card okay, but identifies as
  102. a modem.  When I restart,  it identifies the Xircom card, but does not
  103. appear to initialize it.  I get no link light, and the DHCP server that
  104. I am attempting to link to on a NT4 network will not initialize as well.
  105. (It times out after a long pause)  TCP/IP services appears to be
  106. installed properly, but no IP connectivity via DHCP.  What am I
  107. missing?  Are there additional params in MPTS that I need?
  108.  
  109. It works great as modem however.  No problems there.  I would greatly
  110. appreciate any
  111. assistance you can give.  I am a lone OS/2 certified engineer on Warp4
  112. swamped in a sea
  113. of M$ at my work.  I want to get this thing working on my TP so that I
  114. can show my M$
  115. associates how "kick-ass" OS/2 can really be!

  146. networking until now. After I installed v4, I removed all unneed
  147. networking statements from my config.sys and have been happily accessing
  148. the internet with a modem. Now I would like to network the computers at
  149. home but can't get Peer to install. I get a sys3175 access violation,
  150. LAPSMOD.DLL, error D. Since this file isn't on my machine, I assume I am
  151. going to have to install something else first, but I don't know where to
  152. start. If I have to completely reinstall the networking, that is O.K.
  153. Again, I don't know where to start. Any suggestions would be
  154. appreciated.

  170. I've seen the Error D before, but in a different module.  For a 
  171. clearer idea of why it's failing look in 
  172. C:\IBMINST\LOGS\LOCINSTU\LOCAL.L2 file.

  174. If you have ever updated the TCP/IP stack or MPTS then you can't use 
  175. the basic peer install off the Warp 4 CD.  you either have to 
  176. uninstall MPTS(which use to be LAPS didn't it?) or use the CID peer 
  177. install ( x:\CID\IMG\IBMPEER\PEERRMT.EXE install program on the Warp 4
  178. CDROM. ) which asks if you want to install MPTS over the newer version
  179. (just say NO).    
  180.  
  181. The other thing to watch out for with peer is that all liens in your 
  182. config.sys have to be less then 256 characters.

  228. It cannot do a DNS lookup, complaining about no DNS entry.  If I type in an
  229. IP address, it works just fine.   Running nslookup from an OS/2 Window works
  230. fine too, so I know the DNS setup is still good.

  398.     What kind of trouble? Erratic response? None at all?
  399.     If none at all, check that your routing table has an entry to the
  400. frame releay connection.
  401.     Also check the "Metric Count" setting. You might need to increase to
  402. something like 3 or 5. (Metric Count is the number of hops before giving
  403. up locating a host.)

  423. file operations (copy, delete) work but when we try to rename a file we get
  424. a long pause (5 seconds) followed by a

  505. I run NS2.02, and Comm4.04, and I updated to JAVA 1.1.8, when it first
  506. came out. No problems. I just did the JAVA 1.1.8 update, with no 
  507. problems.

  509. The DNS lookup sounds more like something in the dialer went AWOL. 
  510. Which dialer are you using? Most are supposed to update the DNS 
  511. address in the Netscape program, when the connection is made.

  628. Yes. Assuming this is Warp 4, nslookup uses \mptn\etc\resolv2 (at
  629. least on my system), while other commands, including ping, use
  630. resolv in the same directory. Dialers (DOIP, InJoy) always update
  631. resolv, but may not update resolv2. Clients get the DNS address
  632. from one of these files. You might try a ping to separate the
  633. Java/browser issue from the DNS problem. For example, ping
  634. www.ibm.com.

  655. I just got a Thinkpad 390E and am trying to install Warp4 on it.  I have

  671. as one large partition...  I can't find a way to force it to properly
  672. recognize the partitions  (without deleting everything... which I can't
  673. do now...).   Win/98 FDISK seems to understand the layout (except
  674. for F: which is HPFS formatted)
