The printer code has not been ported to OS/2. Feel free to send me
patches for this. Until then, you may want to try a macro.

Ah hah! *That* would explain the difficulty...:)
Thanks for the quick response. Even momentarily without printing
capability, it's still a nice little port!
Cheers,

Subj: Sendmail - accepting messages
From: Adam =?iso-8859-2?Q?P=B3aszczyca?= <trzypion@waw.pdi.net>
Hi!
OS/2 Sendmail gives a answer 'message accepted to delivery' after
delivering message to next host. I've heared that is an method with two
sendmail processes to avoid this situation.
The question is how to do it?
Regards

Comp.Os.Msdos.MAil-news == c.o.m.ma == comma
FAQ == Frequently Asked Questions
comma is about uucp, mail, and news for msdos or ms-windows or os2.
The comp.os.msdos.mail-news FAQ lists can be obtained via all
news.answers access methods:
quoting the news.answers FAQ:
``
Where are *.answers archived?
All of the *.answers newsgroups are archived in the periodic posting
archive on rtfm.mit.edu [18.181.0.24]. Postings are located in the
anonymous ftp directories /pub/usenet/alt.answers,
/pub/usenet/comp.answers, etc., and are archived by "Archive-name".
Other subdirectories of /pub/usenet contain periodic postings that may
not appear in *.answers (as well as most of the *.answers postings),
saved by Subject line rather than by Archive-name.
If you do not have anonymous ftp access, you can access the archives
by mail server as well. Send an E-mail message to
mail-server@rtfm.mit.edu with "help" and "index" in the body on
separate lines for more information.
''
The FAQ lists for comp.os.msdos.mail-news can be found on the Internet:
<ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet/comp.os.msdos.mail-news/intro>
<ftp://rtfm.mit.edu/pub/usenet/comp.os.msdos.mail-news/software>
<http://www.faqs.org/faqs/msdos-mail-news/intro/>
<http://www.faqs.org/faqs/msdos-mail-news/software/>
Note that the charter of comp.os.msdos.mail-news _explicitly_ covers
mail, news, and uucp under msdos and compatibles, and used to cover
ms-windows and os2 until they got their own groups (although uucp
under ms-windows didn't, so it can stay). the FAQs still list
information for os2 users and ms-windows users.

Subj: Rexx Email Functions
From: "John Wirt" <nospam@nowhere.com>
I am looking for a set of Rexx functions that I could use to send a list of
emails from a Rexx program. Does such exist? Where?
I can use PMMSend but it has to be loaded as a separate program. This is
slow. I want to be able to individually address 200+ emails for a
neighborhood mailing list I maintain from a Rexx program I have run to
compose and send news and information.

You can call SENDMAIL from the REXX program. The parameters
that control it are in the on-line documentation. Just type
TCPHELP SENDMAIL

Yes, it is definitely the better mousetrap. DeScribe was also the better

I am now using a new beta version of JStreetMailer (pvk8), and am in
general pleased with it. I have found one innovation that, at first blush,
looked like a fine idea, but now seems to me to have more negative
consequences than profit. It is possible, of course, that I am overlooking
something.
Formerly (i.e. in the Innoval versions) when the Net bounced a message,
e.g. for a non-existent address, the original message was displayed as an
integral part of the Net's announcement; one could Reply or Forward the
original message by editting out the Net's description of the reasons for
the bounce.
No more. Now the original message is displayed as an attachment. Even if it
is being displayed, "Reply" or "Forward" works only on the Net's
announcement, which does not include the text of the original message. As
far as I can see, it is possible to resent the original text to another
address only by first copying the text to the clipboard (which cannot be
done using the ICE message browser, which I find otherwise to be the
preferable browser choice) or by saving the attachment to a file, then
importing it to a new outgoing message. Both of these are clumsy.
Do I miss something (always possible)? Does the innovation look like a
mistake to others?

Really? Hmm, I have this exact same problem on HP LJIII, LJ 1100 and
LJ 6P. I assumed (incorrectly obviously!) that this was a laserjet
driver problem.
Anyone got any clues? Its really annoying.

Any hints?
I may need to clarify the readme
New Install:
1) Unzip the dnr130B6.zip and dj_NewsPatch.zip in the same directory.
2) Run the dj_install.cmd.
3) Edit the DNREAD.CNF file to reflect your network setup.
Previous Install:
1) Unzip dj_NewsPatch.zip using the -o switch to overwrite any
existing files into your dnread directory.
2) Run the dj_install.cmd
Hope this makes better scene.

IMO it's the best newsreader ever build for OS/2 and for any platform for that
matter. It's truly a real
shame that development seems to have stopped permanently.
