  6. The C.O.L. Systems Inc. File Monitor (FileMon) is one of the Pegasus Tools 
  7. utilities. 
  8.  
  9. With FileMon you can monitor all open file activity on your system, including 
  10. read/write events with response time and data bytes in the operation. 
  11.  
  12. With FileMon you can monitor each file as well as each physical disk. You can 
  13. also monitor the system CPU during collection. 
  14.  
  15. FileMon collects all measurements and stores them to a log file of your naming 
  16. choice. This log file can then be processed by PegLog, the post processing log 
  17. utility.

  24. Monitoring active files is now a simple process: 
  25.  
  26.       1. Enter the name of the log where measurements should be written to. 
  27.  
  28.       2. Set which measurement you want to collect. 
  29.  
  30.       3. Optionally, change the default frequency and duration for the monitor 
  31.          session. 
  32.  
  33.       4. Click Start! 
  34.  
  35.       5. When complete, run PegLog against the log to produce output in report 
  36.          or table format.

  38.      For detailed help on each of the options in this screen, click on the 
  39.      option then press the F1 key.

  126. activated) as well as displayed in the CPU % indicator during monitoring.
