  12. IDEInst.exe is a file created for those out there
  13. having problems installing a 4x or 6x drive into an
  14. existing installation of OS/2 WARP.  It will allow
  15. the user to choose the settings for their IDE
  16. interface and install the necessary drivers for the
  17. drives' use.
  18.  
  19. You do not need to run Selective Install, but you will
  20. need to have your installation materials handy.  If
  21. you originally installed OS/2 from a CDRom, but
  22. have replaced it with the one you are using (i.e. you
  23. had a double speed, removed it and are replacing it
  24. with a 4x/6x IDE), then you will need to do one of
  25. two things: 1) Resetup your old cdrom for the time
  26. being so this program can access your cdrom for
  27. installation, or 2) you can make disk images of
  28. disks 1, 2, 9, and 12 ( If you make disk
  29. images,make sure to tell the installation that you
  30. have a diskette version).

  34. IDEInst.exe will now support HDD installations
  35. through drive letter R.  You still must use floppy
  36. drive A to install from diskettes.

  46. IDEInst.exe was originally tested on a 486dx/33
  47. running red-box, a dx2/80 running blue-box, and a
  48. dx4/100 running blue-box connect.
