! WarpBoot Patch version 1.03 for OS/2 Warp Version 3.0 !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
This application will modify the OS/2 boot kernel so that it always
displays the names of the drivers being loaded into memory when OS/2
is booting up. (Equivalent to pressing ALT-F2.)
_________________________________________________________________________
! !
! OS/2 revisions supported !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
This utility will *ONLY* work with Warp. Version of OS/2 prior to
Warp should not be modified using this application. The application
should correctly identify all version of Warp (red, blue, connect) and
all of the possible fixpacks. In order to avoid problems, you
should probably make a backup copy of the X:\OS2KRNL file before
using this utility.

! For those of you that have access to WWW on the Internet !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
The most recent documentation and version of this software can be
found on the WWW at: http://cyniska.ubishops.ca/os2/os2.html.

! !
! Use of this software !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
This software does not contain any "user-protection" scheme in any
sense of the word. This application
-> will not expire after X number of days
-> will not expire after X tries
-> will not nag you to register
-> will not force you to reboot
-> will not write coded subliminal messages in your INI file
BUT!!! I have had this application blessed by the Local
Computer Gods, and they have assured me that people who
register will enjoy the benefits of a clearer conscience.
Thus, if you happen to like this application, and you've
used it a few times, just send a small contribution to:

! Distribution !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
As stated above, this application is made available to everyone. This
means that you can distribute it to *WHOEVER* wants it. The only
restriction to this is that you *CANNOT* modify any of the files
without contacting me first, and you can only charge for copying or
the media used to copy -- YOU CANNOT CHARGE FOR THE APPLICATION!

! Source code !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
All of my source code is made available for free. I don't upload
the source code to FTP sites unless people ask for it though. So
if you want a copy of my C++ files, just contact me at one of the
locations mentionned under the section "Use of this software".

! Problems & bugs, ideas, upgrades and recommendations !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
If any of my software does not run on your system, PLEASE CONTACT ME!
This means even if you haven't paid for this! All of this software
was coded on a 16meg ram 486dx33 with OS/2 Warp GA and IBM's C++ kit.
I don't have another machine to test any of this out, so let me know
if it doesn't run correctly on your machine.
Also - if you can think of any enhancements, or have ideas and
recommendations you wish to make, please let me know! I'm always
looking for additional programming ideas.

! Libraries and DLLs !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
There is a series of DLLs that are necessary for software written
using IBM's C Set++. This is similar to the EMX.DLL that seems to
be necessary for most OS/2 applications compiled with the GNU
compiler.
In the case of this application, I use calls from three seperate
DLLs. These files are necessary to run the application, so I've
included them with the archive. If these files are already in a
directory specified in you LIBPATH statement, then you can ignore
these DLLs, or even delete them.
IF YOU ARE UNSURE, or you know you don't have the DLLs on your
system, then don't erase them! This application will not run
without the DLLs! Also note that due to the nature of DLLs,
you need to RUN THE GAME IN THE SAME DIRECTORY AS THE DLLS.
If you happen to know how to change lines in your CONFIG.SYS,
then you can add the DLL directory to your LIBPATH statement.

! Known bugs !
!_________________________________________________________________________!
If you minimize the application to your desktop, the minimized
icon does not get refreshed correctly. This causes absolutely
no harm. If there is a programmer familiar with the User
Interface Class who knows how to fix this...please get in touch
with me!
In some circumstances, if you click on "About" before updating the
kernel, then the application will generate an "access violation"
error. I know exactly where this is taking place, but not why.
No data corruption is taking place - you'll just have to restart
the application.
