Special Keys
Ctrl Allows you to select the first character of line by disabling the pointer changes at the border of text cells and text areas.
F10 Always takes you to the Clearlook Status Windows to Open another document, customize settings and other functions.
Footnotes
Most Footnote functions may be performed via the Tools menu. The following is the sequence and brief explanation of each operation:
1. Create note - inserts the next note number and puts you in edit of the notes segment of the document. Select Close when complete
2. Edit notes - puts you in edit of the current notes segment of the document. Select Close when complete
3. make Foot/Endnotes - place current notes in page footer or at end of the document
4. remove notes - the notes inserted by the make function are removed
Tabs and Indention
In Clearlook, the Tab key may be used to skip to the next pre-defined location to align text, to indent a whole paragraph, or just indent the first line of a paragraph. Make sure the horizontal ruler is displayed before continuing.
To create a Tab stop, click with button 1 on the horizontal ruler at the desired location. To move a Tab stop, hold button 1 on the diamond shape and move to the desired location and release. To further define the Tab stop location, use button 2 on the ruler Tab stop diamond shape and a dialog window appears. Through this dialog window a Fill-character may be assigned, the behavior of the Tab stop may be set to be Right aligned, be an Indent point, or the Tab stop may be Deleted.
Note: If text does not seem to respond to Tab stop movement or after updating a Tab stop to Indent point, you will have to delete the text tab markers using the Backspace key and Tab again.
Headers and Footers
Clearlook will generate a standard Header or Footer by selecting the appropriate Tools menu item. To manually create a header or footer, perform the following:
1. Make sure the show cell structure is "on" to see the blue or cyan cell outlines.
2. On the first page on which the header or footer will appear, press button 2 (the InfoBar should indicate "Object: Cell") for the pop-up menu.
3. Select new Text area and you see a new cell outline appear.
4. Move the pointer near the upper left corner of this new area until the following pointer is displayed:
5. When this four-arrow pointer is displayed, the Text Area may be moved into position. For a Header, move it to the upper-left-most corner of the page. For a Footer, move the Text Area to the bottom, the size will have to be changed for a good fit. The Text Area may be re-sized when you see the pointer:
6. After the Header/Footer has been sized and positioned as you would like, it may be "setup" for the following options:
a. To appear on every page through-out the document - Alter the To Page to at least 9999, indicating ALL pages.
b. To print the header/footer on every other page, set the Step value to 2, or another increment.
c. To apply optional shading by selecting a Shading entry.
