<= this is the border of the base text area. It was created by placing the cursor on this text an pressing Alt+B for border. The outer line has a width of 0.1", the inner line a width of 0.05". This was achieved by setting linewidth to 0.1" and line decrease to 50%. Therefore the second line is 50% less wide than the first line. The border consists of two lines due to setting number lines to 2. The setting for internal margin causes the distance between the inner line and this text. The border's shading has been set to 50% shading. The border lines would appear solid black without this setting.
Every text area can have a border with its own design. The base text area propagates through the pages of the document, therefore its border will show automatically on all pages. To create a border or change its settings, place the cursor on text of the desired text area and press Alt+B. Or place the cursor on an existing border and press the second button.
Border definitions with many lines take additional processing time. If the number of lines and their widths defined exceed available space, the border is not drawn.
This border frames a layered text area, that will
become visible by pressing F6. The radius was
set to a value far larger than the width of the
area. This causes the elliptical shape,
filling the extent of the text area.
A frame of type meander. The meander design counts as 3 lines. Here number of lines is set to 5, causing an outer and inner plain border in addition to the meander design. A line decrease of 25% makes the outer border appear bold and the inner border thin.
This is the same border as defined for the base text area with an additional setting for radius of 1" to create the rounded corners.
