  16.     1. ABOUT ZOC

  19.     This is V4.x of ZOC.  ZOC is a high power terminal client for telnet,
  20.     SSH, modem, ISDN, and more.  ZOC has a reputation of being one of
  21.     the best telnet clients around.  Have a look at the feature list and
  22.     the screenshots at www.emtec.com and you will see why.

  24.     The program is available from many online sources (BBSs, FTP, WWW,
  25.     etc.).  It doubles as an evaluation version and full product, depending
  26.     on if you have a software license code or not.
  27.     
  28.     Software license codes are available from special ZOC distributors
  29.     and from mail order houses.  For information about buying ZOC please 
  30.     check REGISTER.TXT and the order form in the Help menu.

  32.     When you start ZOC without a software license code, the program will
  33.     come up in evaluation mode.  In this mode it is fully functional and
  34.     identical to the licensed version.  The only difference is that after
  35.     the end of a file transfer the order form is shown.

  40.     2. DISTRIBUTION, COPYRIGHT

  47.     You may use and test the program for 30 days in evaluation mode. 
  48.     Then you have to order a license code or remove it from your system.

  50.     No warranty of any kind can be given for damage caused through ZOC 
  51.     directly or indirectly or any other way.

  53.     The evaluation version of ZOC may be distributed freely via tele-
  54.     communication, shareware dealers or as a free add on for hard- or 
  55.     software products in form of an unmodified ZIP archive, or as 
  56.     unzipped files in an single directory with the name beginning with
  57.     "ZOC" and with no file added, removed or modified.

  59.     The REXX processor in the Windows version of ZOC was licensed code 
  60.     from Enterprise Alternatives, Inc.  If you wish to use REXX separately
  61.     from ZOC, please check the orders section of the help file for 
  62.     information of how to contact Enterprise Alternatives.

  64.     The evaluation version may be put on shareware internet sites, and/or 
  65.     included in shareware or magazine CDs if the following requirements 
  66.     are met.

  68.      * ZOC must not be used in an army environment or for purposes 
  69.        that are related to the military or to arms production.

  71.      * ZOC may be included into shareware CDs if the ZIP file is
  72.        left intact or if all files from the ZIP file are provided
  73.        in a single directory the name of which begins with ZOC.

  78.     3. INSTALLATION

  81.     To install ZOC just run SETUP.EXE. The windowed install program will 
  82.     handle the rest.

  84.     If you encounter problems of any kind, please try to install ZOC 
  85.     into a fresh directory on your boot drive without importing files 
  86.     from a prior ZOC version.

  88.     Note: ZOC should not be installed over or importing from an existing 
  89.     beta version of ZOC.
