Golden CommPass(R) 2.20a Demonstration Version
==============================================
Thank you for taking the time to look at this special demonstration
version of Golden CommPass. Golden CommPass is the ONLY CompuServe
navigation program that is specifically designed to work in
conjunction with OS/2.
Golden CommPass allows you to optimize your time and efficiency in
accessing many of the services provided on the CompuServe Information
Service. Specifically, Golden CommPass will make the time that you
spend using CompuServe mail and the special interest forums
significantly easier and cost efficient.
The primary design objective of Golden CommPass is to substantially
reduce the cost of accessing CompuServe mail and CompuServe forums,
while completely automating the tedious task of searching for and
retrieving information.
This objective is accomplished by first downloading messages and
subjects from CompuServe forums, and then, at one's convenience,
selecting those subjects (message threads) which are of interest.
Golden CommPass will automatically carry out your request to retrieve
that information. While this online session is in progress, there is
no need to sit and stare at the messages scrolling by at high speeds.
Instead, you can be comfortably reading messages and composing
responses on other forums, at your leisure, or using other
applications. You will no longer need to worry about your monthly
connect-time bills or your long distance telephone bills, because you
can compose messages offline, at your own pace.
Of course, at any time while composing a message, you can save what
you have already written (using either OS/2's clipboard, or by saving
the message to a temporary file). You can control what you do and
when you do it. When the online session has completed, you can read
those messages as well. There is no limit to the possibilities.
In addition to automating access to the forum message area and data
libraries, Golden CommPass provides complete support for all the
CompuServe mail facilities, including binary file transfer, MCI mail,
worldwide facsimile transmissions, Internet, Telex and postal.
Additional facilities are provided to enhance the capabilities of
CompuServe mail, such as attaching data files to a message and using
mailing groups or lists.
To use this demonstration version, you will need a CompuServe User ID
and password. If you do not already have a User ID and password, you
can obtain an introductory membership kit from CompuServe by calling
(800) 524-3388 (or (617) 457-0802 inside Ohio or outside of the United
States and Canada) and asking for representative #239.
Creative Systems Programming Corporation is making this special
demonstration version of Golden CommPass available to those users that
are interested in experimenting with a native OS/2 application for
accessing the CompuServe Information Service
We hope that by making this demonstration version available, you will
be able to evaluate the usefulness of a completely automatic OS/2
CompuServe navigation program. The evaluation period for this program
is limited to 30 days.
This is not shareware. This demonstration program contains all the
features of the complete Golden CommPass program, except that it has
been limited to accessing CompuServe forums that begin with either IBM,
OS2, PC or PSP as well as the PRACTICE and GCPSUPPORT forums. In addition,
this demonstration version will not allow you to send or retrieve
CompuServe mail. This demonstration program has been designed to work
differently or stop working 30 days after the first use.
Technical Support
All technical support for the demonstration version of Golden CommPass
is provided on the Golden CommPass Support Forum on CompuServe (GO
GCPSUPPORT).
