  2.                        BULLETRON DATABASE HELP
  3.  
  4. The database is broken down into fields, or keys.  A search can be done
  5. on any one particular key, or multiple keys to narrow down the choices.
  6.  
  7. The database will prompt you for the search criteria.  For each key, you
  8. can enter a FROM value, then a THRU value after the "->" prompt.  If you
  9. don't care about a key, just press [ENTER] and that key will be skipped
  10. in the search.

  12. Let's assume the database contains information about other BBS systems.
  13. This example database is keyed by 2-letter State abbreviation, telephone
  14. area code, BBS name, and location.  If you wish to find all the BBS
  15. systems in your state, enter the state code, then after the "->", press
  16. [ENTER].  Then press [ENTER] for the prompts for area code, BBS name,
  17. and location.

  19. If you wish to find all the BBS systems in area codes 213 through 415,
  20. for example, press [ENTER] for the request for record number, state
  21. abbreviation, then enter 213, then after the "->" enter 415.  All those
  22. BBSs in area codes 213 thru 415 will display.

  24. If you are looking for a BBS by name, and you know part of the name,
  25. press [ENTER] past the record number, state abbreviation, area code, and
  26. enter the part you know in the name field.  Bulletron will do a string
  27. search for all the sites containing that string in their name.

  29. If you are looking for an BBS system in a particular city, Bulletron can
  30. do a string search for the city by searching all the location keys.

  32. After the selection criteria is entered, Bulletron prompts for how much
  33. information to display.

  35.    Summary only or Full text ([S]/F)?
  36.  
  37. The first time that a search is done, you should select summary only to
  38. see how many selections will be displayed and determine if you want to
  39. add additional restrictions for your search.  When the summary displays
  40. the entries you are intrested in you could rerun with full text to
  41. display all the fields in those entries.

  45. Entering "Y" here allows you to perform another search.  You will be
  46. prompted for the keys again without having to return to the main prompt.
