  2.                        BULLETRON MATCHMAKER HELP
  3.  
  4. Sub-boards (sections) on Bulletron systems may have questionnaires
  5. associated with them.  If a sub-board has a questionnaire, you will be
  6. prompted to answer the questionnaire either upon selecting the sub-board
  7. or before you use any of the matchmaker commands (as determined by your
  8. system operator).
  9.  
  10. Bulletron offers three questionnaire types:
  11.  
  12. *  Multiple Choice or MATCH questionnaires, which display a question and
  13.    a group of answers, each associated with a letter.  You indicate your
  14.    responses by selecting one or more responses by letter.  Bulletron
  15.    tells you how many responses it will accept for each question.
  16.  
  17. *  Essay Questionnaires, which display a question to you and allow you
  18.    to type in your own free-form answers.  You can not MATCH to an Essay
  19.    Questionnaire.
  20.  
  21. *  Combined Questionnaires, which begin by displaying Multiple Choice
  22.    selections, then end with essay selections.  You can only MATCH to
  23.    the Multiple Choice selections of a Combined Questionnaire.

  25. You should always answer each questionnaire item honestly, so that when
  26. your questionnaire is searched for matches, it provides an accurate
  27. profile of YOU.
  28.  
  29. Any user may view any other user's answers to a questionnaire.  In
  30. addition, users with sufficient access may search all responses to a
  31. given questionnaire for users who have given certain specific answers.
  32.  
  33. Remember that different sub-boards may have different questionnaires.
  34. Therefore, your results may vary if you perform the same matchmaker
  35. command on different sub-boards.

  55. Here is what these commands do for you:
  56.  
  57.    "MS"
  58.  
  59. This command allows you to find users who have answered the
  60. questionnaire in a certain way.  Bulletron displays the questionnaire to
  61. you just as it did when you answered it.  This time, however, you should
  62. answer the questions in the way the person that you're looking for would
  63. have answered them.  If you do not care about the response to a
  64. particular question, just hit [ENTER] (without entering a choice) and
  65. that question will be ignored when searching.  Bulletron will search all
  66. questionnaire responses and will display a listing of all users whose
  67. answers match your selections.
  68.  
  69.    "MP"
  70.  
  71. This command allows you to match YOUR questionnaire answers with those
  72. of other users.  You will be prompted to enter a PERCENT by which you
  73. wish to have the answers match.  The default is 50%.  Bulletron will
  74. display the accounts whose questionnaires have at least the specified
  75. percent of responses matching yours.
  76.  
  77.    "MI" or "MI nn"
  78.  
  79. This command allows you to re-answer the questionnaire, in case you
  80. realize that you made a mistake, or just want to change your mind.  Some
  81. multiple choice questions allow you to give only one answer, while
  82. others allow you to give multiple answers.  The number of permissible
  83. answers is displayed at the end of each question.  This information
  84. about you is available to other users who have access to the Matchmaker
  85. command, just as their answers to this questionnaire are available to
  86. you.  If you specify a number after the "MI" command then you can
  87. re-answer just one question.

  89.    "MQ"
  90.  
  91. This command allows you to display the QUESTIONNAIRE on a sub-board
  92. without prompting you to answer it.  Sometimes you can't get out of
  93. answering it because your system operator has told the system to make
  94. you answer it before you can select the sub-board.
  95.  
  96.    "MA xxxx"
  97.  
  98. This command allows you to display the questionnaire responses for
  99. account "xxxx".  This is your key to finding out about other users and
  100. what they are like.  Since different sub-boards may have different
  101. questionnaires, issuing this command on various sub-boards may yield a
  102. different set of answers for the same user on each sub-board.
  103.  
  104.    "MF"
  105.  
  106. This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
  107. ALL accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
  108. selected.  The accounts are sorted by ascending account code order.
  109.  
  110.    "MB"
  111.  
  112. This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
  113. ALL accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
  114. selected.  The accounts are sorted by descending account code order.
  115.  
  116.    "ML"
  117.  
  118. This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
  119. all accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
  120. selected, that have logged onto the BBS since YOUR last logon.  The
  121. accounts are sorted in order of descending last logon date.
  122.  
  123.    "MN"
  124.  
  125. This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
  126. all accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
  127. selected, that were created since YOUR last logon.  The accounts are
  128. sorted in order of descending last logon date.
  129.  
  130.    "MT"
  131.  
  132. This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
  133. all accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
  134. selected, that have logged onto the BBS TODAY.  The accounts are sorted
  135. in order of descending last logon date.

  137.    "MH"
  138.

  142. MATCHMAKER HINTS:
  143.  
  144. Entering more than one response allows Bulletron to show you the accounts
  145. of users who answered their questionnaire with any of the selections you
  146. make.
  147.  
  148. You should not be too selective when doing a search.  If you make your
  149. selections too restrictive, then you may find that Bulletron cannot find
  150. anyone who answered just as you have selected.  You'll find that it pays
  151. to answer and search for matches to only the items that are of the
  152. greatest interest to you, and skip the rest.
  153.  
  154. The "MS" command displays dots on your screen as it scans the user file,
  155. each dot represents one scanned account.  To make the search faster, the
  156. account file is scanned without an index, so the accounts found and
  157. listed by the Matchmaker will be displayed in no special order.
  158.  
  159. The Matchmaker subcommands show the questionnaire answers of only those
  160. users who have access to the sub-board which you currently have
  161. selected.
