BULLETRON MATCHMAKER HELP
Sub-boards (sections) on Bulletron systems may have questionnaires
associated with them. If a sub-board has a questionnaire, you will be
prompted to answer the questionnaire either upon selecting the sub-board
or before you use any of the matchmaker commands (as determined by your
system operator).
Bulletron offers three questionnaire types:
* Multiple Choice or MATCH questionnaires, which display a question and
a group of answers, each associated with a letter. You indicate your
responses by selecting one or more responses by letter. Bulletron
tells you how many responses it will accept for each question.
* Essay Questionnaires, which display a question to you and allow you
to type in your own free-form answers. You can not MATCH to an Essay
Questionnaire.
* Combined Questionnaires, which begin by displaying Multiple Choice
selections, then end with essay selections. You can only MATCH to
the Multiple Choice selections of a Combined Questionnaire.
You should always answer each questionnaire item honestly, so that when
your questionnaire is searched for matches, it provides an accurate
profile of YOU.
Any user may view any other user's answers to a questionnaire. In
addition, users with sufficient access may search all responses to a
given questionnaire for users who have given certain specific answers.
Remember that different sub-boards may have different questionnaires.
Therefore, your results may vary if you perform the same matchmaker
command on different sub-boards.

Here is what these commands do for you:
"MS"
This command allows you to find users who have answered the
questionnaire in a certain way. Bulletron displays the questionnaire to
you just as it did when you answered it. This time, however, you should
answer the questions in the way the person that you're looking for would
have answered them. If you do not care about the response to a
particular question, just hit [ENTER] (without entering a choice) and
that question will be ignored when searching. Bulletron will search all
questionnaire responses and will display a listing of all users whose
answers match your selections.
"MP"
This command allows you to match YOUR questionnaire answers with those
of other users. You will be prompted to enter a PERCENT by which you
wish to have the answers match. The default is 50%. Bulletron will
display the accounts whose questionnaires have at least the specified
percent of responses matching yours.
"MI" or "MI nn"
This command allows you to re-answer the questionnaire, in case you
realize that you made a mistake, or just want to change your mind. Some
multiple choice questions allow you to give only one answer, while
others allow you to give multiple answers. The number of permissible
answers is displayed at the end of each question. This information
about you is available to other users who have access to the Matchmaker
command, just as their answers to this questionnaire are available to
you. If you specify a number after the "MI" command then you can
re-answer just one question.
"MQ"
This command allows you to display the QUESTIONNAIRE on a sub-board
without prompting you to answer it. Sometimes you can't get out of
answering it because your system operator has told the system to make
you answer it before you can select the sub-board.
"MA xxxx"
This command allows you to display the questionnaire responses for
account "xxxx". This is your key to finding out about other users and
what they are like. Since different sub-boards may have different
questionnaires, issuing this command on various sub-boards may yield a
different set of answers for the same user on each sub-board.
"MF"
This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
ALL accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
selected. The accounts are sorted by ascending account code order.
"MB"
This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
ALL accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
selected. The accounts are sorted by descending account code order.
"ML"
This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
all accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
selected, that have logged onto the BBS since YOUR last logon. The
accounts are sorted in order of descending last logon date.
"MN"
This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
all accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
selected, that were created since YOUR last logon. The accounts are
sorted in order of descending last logon date.
"MT"
This command displays the personal descriptions and questionnaires for
all accounts having access to the sub-board that you currently have
selected, that have logged onto the BBS TODAY. The accounts are sorted
in order of descending last logon date.
"MH"
Displays this help message!
MATCHMAKER HINTS:
Entering more than one response allows Bulletron to show you the accounts
of users who answered their questionnaire with any of the selections you
make.
You should not be too selective when doing a search. If you make your
selections too restrictive, then you may find that Bulletron cannot find
anyone who answered just as you have selected. You'll find that it pays
to answer and search for matches to only the items that are of the
greatest interest to you, and skip the rest.
The "MS" command displays dots on your screen as it scans the user file,
each dot represents one scanned account. To make the search faster, the
account file is scanned without an index, so the accounts found and
listed by the Matchmaker will be displayed in no special order.
The Matchmaker subcommands show the questionnaire answers of only those
users who have access to the sub-board which you currently have
selected.
