  1. EleBBS v0.05.g1 - Installation instructions
  2. ===========================================

  4. These installation instructions are intended for people who are using EleBBS
  5. for the first time. If you've used EleBBS earlier, or have used RemoteAccess
  6. or tcRA32 a simple 'unpack' operation should get you started.
  7. Please note that you do not have to follow these instructions, but it will
  8. make your setup a whole lot easier.
  9.  
  10. Step 1
  11. ======
  12. First create an directory where you want to unpack the temporary files for
  13. EleBBS' installation in. Please do not choose the directory \ELE because this
  14. can confuse the installation batch. Unpack the main archive (EB_????.ZIP) into
  15. this directory.

  17. Step 2
  18. ======
  19. Run the INSTALL.BAT. This batchfile requires two parameters to be present.
  20. The first parameter should be the drive you want EleBBS to be installed to
  21. (eg: C: or D:). Please do not add a trailing backslash.

  23. The second parameter should be the full path and filename to an unpacker that
  24. is able to handle the ZIP archive format.

  26. Example: INSTALL C: C:\COMPRESS\UNZIP.EXE

  28. Step 3
  29. ======
  30. You have just installed a working copy of EleBBS.
  31. You can fire up an local EleBBS node by typing in
  32. ELEBBS -L
