  5.     ■  Defaults and behaviour of Downsort changed for better (first time)
  6.        use.  The environment variable 'MAXIMUS' is used to locate some
  7.        system files.
  8.     ■  2 new list-types added: HTML formatted versions of ALLFILES and
  9.        NEWFILES.  These are basically the same as IPF- and IPN-lists, but
  10.        formatted with HTML-tags to be displayed with WebExplorer (tested
  11.        with 1.1f) or any HTML browser with support for HTML 3.0.  A
  12.        GIF-file 'Downsort.Gif' is included for the title-page.
  13.     ■  Import of File_Id.Diz contents now supported.  With the keyword
  14.        'DIZimport' you can select the cases in which you want import:
  15.        never, always, with missing description or when it is too short.
  16.        See section 'Import of File_Id.Diz' in Downsort.Doc for details.
  17.     ■  New keyword to skip directory scanning of areas on CDROM or to
  18.        completely ignore these (Maximus: "Type CD").
  19.     ■  If an area is of "Type DateList" then file size and date will be
  20.        extracted from the corresponding Files.Bbs files.
  21.     ■  New keyword to suppress the use of high-ASCII characters by Downsort
  22.        in headers and BLOCK titles.
  23.     ■  If the configuration file DOWNSORT.CFG is not found or specified, a
  24.        default ALLFILES.LST is generated (provided FAREA.DAT is found).
  25.     ■  Output linelength can now be specified per list individually as
  26.        extension of the -T and -W parameters.
  27.     ■  The -L option is not available anymore.  For Files.Bbs the filesize
  28.        and date will be part of the output if area is of "Type CD
  29.        DateList".
  30.     ■  The description in Files.Bbs will not be replaced with a 'dummy'
  31.        text anymore but can be replaced with the contents of File_Id.Diz.
  32.     ■  Changes in some layouts for presentation of division hierarchy, in
  33.        particular the ALLFileList summary.
  34.     ■  SPLITSUM.CMD improved and renamed to DOWNSUM.CMD.
  35.     ■  Changed 'Downsort.Key' encoding algorithm.  'Downsort.Key' will be
  36.        updated automatically (if not 'read-only'!).  Make a copy of the old
  37.        key to allow fallback to 6.2!
  38.     ■  Change in Downsort's signature for more apparent registration proof.
  39.     ■  Added a file DOWNSORT.FAQ for some frequently asked questions and
  40.        the answers, mainly concerning unexpected or undesired behaviour of
  41.        Downsort.

  43.        ∙  "Runtime considerations" to explain the use of configuration
  44.           files
  45.        ∙  the calculation of file age
  46.     ■  The functional extensions made that Downsort grew over the infamous
  47.        64KB boundary for the (16-bits) code segment.  This forces a
  48.        selection of a 'large' memory model, which made DOWNSRT1.EXE grow
  49.        more than proportional compared to version 6.2.

  53.     ■  Listed files in IPNFileList now obey the specifications.
  54.     ■  Solved runtime error R6001 in DOS environment.
  55.     ■  Sorts where the filename is involved changed to case-dependent!
  56.        Lower case filenames are converted to upper case during data
  57.        collection, and the case-independent sort gave a wrong sequence,
  58.        especially with filenames containing the underscore character.
  59.     ■  Corrections in calculation of file-age: now takes into account
  60.        leap-year and timezone.
  61.     ■  All file dates now accepted (limit to year 2057 removed).
  62.     ■  'Offline' files not reported anymore in lists with limit on
  63.        file-age.
  64.     ■  Correction in some sorts: performance improvement!
  65.     ■  Correction in handling of explicit path spec in Files.Bbs.
