A short summary of BUEd's history:
----------------------------------------
Explanations:
+ New feature
- Removed feature
! Changed feature
* Fixed
----------------------------------------
09 Sept 1996 BUEd/2 v1.20
----------------------------------------
+ First OS/2 release
+ MD5-security routine
With kind permission from Kim Heino I have been able to include
the MD5 routine. No more: "TAMPERED USERREC WITH SYSOP ACCESS"
* Minor changes
When pressing ESC when you're in the F2 userlist you no longer
jump to the highlighted user.
You're now only prompted if you want to save changes if you have
altered something.
Sometimes after changing a user's sysop access the toggle marks
weren't erased and was shown when you used another list. Fixed.
01 Sept 1996 BUEd v1.10
----------------------------------------
! F3 - Search
The search engine has been altered so that you can use boolean
operators in your search.
ie. 'kristian and (oslo or trondheim)' will find all users with
the text kristian and either oslo or trondheim.
! F5 - Bulk processing
The bulk function has been extended. Now you can select users from
the userlist, select all users or select users matching a search
string (Same search engine as in F3).
+ User note database.
BUEd now has a database where you can enter notes about your users.
The maximum size of the note is 2048 bytes.
'I' - Shows the user note.
'ALT-I' - Edits the user notes in four ways:
1. Edit note in your favourite ASCII editor.
2. Import an ASCII file
3. Delete usernote
4. Clean up BUED.DAT (Erase notes on users that are no
longer in the BBBSUSR.DAT)
* F6 - Dupe check
The reportfile was not released before the program ended. This is now
fixed.
+ BUEd can now release time slices to your operating system for better
cooperation with multitasking OSes. See BUED.DOC section 3.1
+ BUEd Note Generator program.
Added a door which can be used to import information about the user
into the user note database.
21 July 1996 BUEd v1.01
----------------------------------------
! F6 - Dupe check:
1. Duplicate/similar users are now only shown once in the report file.
2. Phone and birth are now only checked if the two values are equal
in length. ie. 4 does not longer match 121274.
3. Killed users are no longer compared or written to the report.
4. Speed increase. A sample userfile with 100 users on a 486dx2 66 takes
3.30 seconds to process, compared to 7.50 seconds in version 1.0
! There is no longer any need to run BPUS at the closing of the program
when a name field is altered.
06 July 1996 BUEd v1.0
----------------------------------------
First official release.
