  39. 1)  SETTING UP THE PROGRAM
  40.  
  41. Although it is not required, a setup utility
  42. (Setup.exe) has been provided along with this
  43. program that will automatically copy the program
  44. files to your hard disk and setup a program
  45. group in the Start menu.
  46.  
  47. To start the installation, double-click the file
  48. Setup.exe.
  49.  
  50. NOTE:  If you are using the first version of 
  51. Windows 95 then you might get an error saying 
  52. that "SetupAPI.DLL is missing."  This is because
  53. this file, SetupAPI.DLL, was not part of the first
  54. version of Windows 95.  If you find yourself in
  55. this situation then you can do one of the following:
  56.  
  57. a)  Install Discover Painting manually:  Simply
  58. copy all of the files to any folder on your hard disk.  
  59. We suggest that you first create a new folder named Discover
  60. Painting and put the files in this new folder.  
  61. Now, right click on the file DisPaint.exe and select
  62. "Create Shortcut" from the popup menu.  Now, drag the
  63. new shortcut to your desktop.  You can double-click
  64. this shortcut to start Discover Painting.
  65.  
  66. b)  Go to the Microsoft web site and download the Windows
  67. Socket 2 Update.  The URL for that file is:

  71. After installing the update, restart the setup application
  72. for Discover Painting.

  76. 2)  UNINSTALLING THE PROGRAM

  78. To uninstall this program after having installed
  79. it using the provided setup utility, go to the
  80. Windows Control Panel and double-click the
  81. Add/Remove Programs icon.  Then find the name of
  82. this program in the program group list, select it,
  83. and then press the Add/Remove... button.

  87. 3)  RUNNING THE PROGRAM WITHOUT INSTALLING IT

  89. To run the program without installing it using the
  90. provided setup utility, simply double-click the
  91. program file, DisPaint.exe.

  127. 6)  WHERE'S THE MENU?
  128.  
  129. You'll notice that Discover Painting does not have a 
  130. menu bar at the top of the screen. Instead, Discover 
  131. Painting has a remote control allowing access to 
  132. certain functions and features. (Discover Painting does
  133. have a popup menu that contains the same menu items as 
  134. the remote.  You can access the popup menu by right-clicking 
  135. the mouse or by pressing the F1-key.)
  136.  
  137. The remote control is located on the desk, just to the right of the 
  138. computer monitor, and is always visible. 
  139.

  144. The remote allows access to the following functions and features:
  145.  
  146. Quit -- pressing the quit button will close Discover Painting
  147.  
  148. Save -- pressing the save button will activate the 
  149. standard "Save As" dialog allowing you to save your painting
  150.  
  151. New -- pressing the new button will clear the painting 
  152. area and prepare it for a new painting. 
  153.  
  154. Open -- pressing the open button will activate the 
  155. standard "Open" dialog allowing you to open a previously 
  156. saved file for editing. 
  157.  
  158. About -- pressing the about button will activate the 
  159. about dialog that contains information about Crescent 
  160. Vision Interactive, and a link to our web site.
  161.  
  162. Help -- pressing the help button activates this help window.
  163.  
  164. Prefs -- pressing the preferences button activates the 
  165. preferences window where you can change certain program settings.
