To start the installation, double-click the file Setup.exe. NOTE: If you are using the first version of Windows 95 then you might get an error saying that "SetupAPI.DLL is missing." This is because this file, SetupAPI.DLL, was not part of the first version of Windows 95. If you find yourself in this situation then you can do one of the following: a) Install Discover Painting manually: Simply copy all of the files to any folder on your hard disk. We suggest that you first create a new folder named Discover Painting and put the files in this new folder. Now, right click on the file DisPaint.exe and select "Create Shortcut" from the popup menu. Now, drag the new shortcut to your desktop. You can double-click this shortcut to start Discover Painting. b) Go to the Microsoft web site and download the Windows Socket 2 Update. The URL for that file is: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/bin/W95ws2setup.exe After installing the update, restart the setup application for Discover Painting. ----------------------------------------------- 2) UNINSTALLING THE PROGRAM To uninstall this program after having installed it using the provided setup utility, go to the Windows Control Panel and double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon. Then find the name of this program in the program group list, select it, and then press the Add/Remove... button. ----------------------------------------------- 3) RUNNING THE PROGRAM WITHOUT INSTALLING IT To run the program without installing it using the provided setup utility, simply double-click the program file, DisPaint.exe. ----------------------------------------------- 4) FILE LIST The following files should be included with this distribution: DisPaint.exe -- The program executable file Setup.exe -- The setup utility executable file setup.inf -- The setup information file (used by Setup.exe) Help_DPK.hlp -- The User's Guide in Windows Help format (accessible from within the program) License.txt -- The license agreement ReadMe.txt -- This ReadMe file order.txt -- Order form in text format File_id.diz -- Program information file MustRead.txt -- Important installation note 17 bitmap files -- used as starter pages and backgrounds (accessible from within the program) If you are missing any of the above files, then contact Crescent Vision Interactive, LLC via email at support@crescentvision.com. ----------------------------------------------- 5) SITE LICENSES & PURCHASE ORDERS Site licenses with quantity discounts are available for this product.
