  4. We have consulted with our staff and
  5. outside computer consultants and have some simple
  6. recommendations for you.

  8. You can change your DOS 5.0 or 6.0 CONFIG.SYS to:
  9.  
  10. device=C:\dos\himem.sys
  11. DOS=HIGH,umb
  12. FILES=60
  13. buffers=30
  14.  
  15. You can also change your AUTOEXEC.BAT to:
  16.  
  17. lh C:\dos\share.exe
  18.  
  19. where lh means to loadhigh.
  20.  
  21. You can also loadhigh other programs including your LAN
  22. Network software, your mouse driver, etc., simply type adding
  23. ld before the program you want to load high, e.g.,
  24.  
  25. lh smcplus.com
  26. lh client
  27. lh lsl
  28.  
  29. DOS will try to load high all the programs in can load
  30. high and default to conventional memory (640K) when it
  31. cannot.

  33. We also recommend that you can use Memmaker in DOS 6.0
  34. which is a helpful tool in managing your memory.

  36. We suggest that you can call your LAN dealer for help.
  37. They often have someone on staff to help you with
  38. this and other support services.

  41. management.
