We have consulted with our staff and
outside computer consultants and have some simple
recommendations for you.

You can change your DOS 5.0 or 6.0 CONFIG.SYS to:

device=C:\dos\himem.sys
DOS=HIGH,umb
FILES=60
buffers=30

You can also change your AUTOEXEC.BAT to:

lh C:\dos\share.exe

where lh means to loadhigh.

You can also loadhigh other programs including your LAN
Network software, your mouse driver, etc., simply type adding
ld before the program you want to load high, e.g.,

lh smcplus.com
lh client
lh lsl

DOS will try to load high all the programs in can load
high and default to conventional memory (640K) when it
cannot.  

We also recommend that you can use Memmaker in DOS 6.0
which is a helpful tool in managing your memory.

We suggest that you can call your LAN dealer for help.
They often have someone on staff to help you with
this and other support services.
