  1. Nearly all archives now have file extenders:
  2. xxx.spk: Spark archive
  3. xxx.zip: Zip archive
  4.  
  5. Other archive types:
  6. xxx.Z: compress
  7. xxx.gz: GNU-Zip (gzip)
  8. xxx.tar: tar
  9.  
  10. Text files:
  11. xxx.txt, xxx.info, README
  12.  
  13. If a file doesn't have an extender, it is either a text file or an
  14. unrecognized archive (those archives should disappear as soon as I
  15. have some time for this :)

  17. Please note that most README's don't have the extenders in the
  18. descriptions!
