  1. MacSPIRS v2.41 Software Installation Guide

  4. 1. Double-click on the Installer icon in the MacSPIRS 2.41 Installer folder.
  5.  
  6. 2. Identify the location and name of the new application and click Save.
  7.  
  8. 3. Select the type of installation you want to perform.
  9.  
  10.         * Select Full Installation to install a new MacSPIRS application or
  11.           to replace a previous version of MacSPIRS. 
  12.           
  13.         * Select Reconfigure Installed Application to change the software
  14.           options of an existing MacSPIRS application.
  15.  
  16.         * Select Preconfigure Defaults to set ERL (Electronic Reference
  17.           Library) login options. This modifies the Installer for future
  18.           installations.
  19.  
  20. 4. If you are performing a Full Installation, select the type of code you want
  21.    to install.
  22.  
  23.     * Select FAT binary to install a version of MacSPIRS that will run as
  24.           a native application on either a 68K or PowerPC machine.
  25.     
  26.     * Select 68K for the 68K version of MacSPIRS. This version will also
  27.           run under emulation on a PowerPC machine, however, performance may
  28.           be slower.
  29.  
  30.     * Select Native PPC Only for the PowerPC version of MacSPIRS.

  32. 5. If you chose the ERL Client Only of Both (ERL Client and standalone)
  33.    application type in step 3, you can add, edit or delete ERL server
  34.    addresses.
  35.     * To add a server address:
  36.         * Click Add Server.
  37.         * Enter the Server's IP address or host name in the Add Server
  38.                   dialog box.
  39.         * Click OK.

  41.     * To edit a server address:
  42.         * If necessary, click Next to display the server address you
  43.                   want to edit.
  44.         * Click Edit.
  45.         * Modify the server's IP address or host name in the Edit
  46.                   Server dialog box.
  47.         * Click OK in the Edit Server dialog box.

  49.     * To delete a server address:
  50.         * If necessary, click Next to display the server address you
  51.                   want to delete.
  52.         * Click Delete Server.
  53.         * Click OK in the Delete Server dialog box.

  55. 6. Click OK in the Application Type dialog box to continue the installation.

  57. 7. Select the software options that you want to apply to the application and
  58.    click OK.
  59.    
  60. 8. Run MacSPIRS by double-clicking on the new or modified application icon.
