  10.                                Who we are . . .

  12. CCP/M is a not-for-profit computer users group, a friendly society of people 
  13. interested in increasing the utility and enjoyment of computing with "CP/M 
  14. type" computer systems.

  16.                       Why we still believe in CP/M . . .
  17.  
  18. While the world of micro computing, especially business micro computing, moved 
  19. more and more to the IBM/MS-DOS standard, CP/M systems have remained a more 
  20. practical solution for many computer users. 
  21.  
  22. Contrary to popular opinion, CP/M is alive and well. Independent programmers 
  23. are developing low cost (and *FREE*) software and a small dedicated group of 
  24. computer manufacturers are still producing CP/M based computers. Many of these 
  25. new systems are better than those produced in CP/M's most prolific years.
  26.  
  27. One important example of this is an exciting new operating system, the Z-
  28. SYSTEM, that is now available for nearly every CP/M type computer system. This 
  29. new system is much more efficient, flexible and powerful than standard CP/M 
  30. allowing many Z-SYSTEM based computer systems enjoy a performance advantage 
  31. over IBM PC MS-DOS systems! Converting from CP/M to Z-SYSTEM, and even 
  32. reversing the process, is quick and painless and at a cost of well under a 
  33. hundred dollars, the new dynamic Z-SYSTEM is a practical way to improve 
  34. dramatically the usefulness and fun of your CP/M system.

  56. Public Domain programs are programs released to the general public and may be 
  57. used and copied without charge. Shareware programs are released in a slightly 
  58. different way. There is no charge to try the programs but the authors do ask 
  59. that a fee be sent to them if, and only if, you find the program of use to you. 
  60. Often, by sending in this reasonable fee, the author will supply extra features 
  61. or information that make the program even more valuable.

  63. Aside from all these benefits we offer the opportunity for our members to 
  64. participate in the planning and function of our group. If you have ideas or 
  65. suggestions, this group is willing to listen.

  69. CCP/M meets on the second Tuesday of each month at the Farmington Public 
  70. library, Farmington, CT, from 6:30 to 9:00 PM. Interested persons are 
  71. encouraged to attend. Directions: Exit 39 (Route 4) off I-84, West 4 miles, the 
  72. library is in a civic buildings complex on your right.
