Select a FILE, Option F is selected before choosing any other PHOTOLOG MAIN
MENU option (except the HELPFUL INFORMATION option). The Select a FILE
option is used to select a new file or change from one existing file to
another.
To use the FILE Selection option:
1. Press <F> from the PHOTOLOG MAIN MENU. The screen will clear and the SELECT
A FILE screen will be displayed.
2. In the corresponding fields, type drive, directory and file name. DRIVE and
FILE NAME are mandatory. DIRECTORY is optional. If DIRECTORY is left blank
the default or current data directory will be used. You do not have to
enter file extension because PHOTOLOG will assign it automatically.
PHOTOLOG uses the following function keys to aid data entry:
<F2> - Refresh current screen entry.
<F3> - Quit and return to Main Menu. Do not change file currently selected.
<F4> - Clear current screen entry. Reset selected file to null value.
<F8> - Continue. Accept and use file information entered on screen.
3. Press the appropriate function key to continue.
If <F8> is pressed and the data file and corresponding index file exist, the
screen will clear and the PHOTOLOG MAIN MENU will be displayed.
If the data file exists, but the index file is not found on the same drive,
the index file will be recreated. Once the index file is created, press
any key to return to the PHOTOLOG MAIN MENU.
If the data file does not exist, PHOTOLOG will ask if it should be created.
Press <Y> to create this file or <N> to cancel the request. Press any key
to return to the PHOTOLOG MAIN MENU.
NOTE: If <Y> is pressed to create a new file, the only function that is
permitted is ADD data. Once records have been added, any other
PHOTOLOG functions may be selected.
