  1. Help on the items in the OPTIONS menu.

  3. * Card options
  4. * Colors

  7.  CARD OPTIONS: Choosing CARDS in this
  8. sub-menu will bring up a dialog box
  9. which will allow you to specify what
  10. suits will be used and how they will
  11. be named. Click on the boxes with the
  12. names of the suits and the court cards
  13. to type in new names. These names must
  14. be less than ten letters. Press
  15. <Enter> after you type in the name.
  16. The new names will appear in the
  17. places where the suits are named, in
  18. the Overview for example. An asterisk
  19. in the boxes beside the suit and court
  20. names indicates these cards will be
  21. included in the deck. Click in these
  22. boxes to toggle between inclusion and
  23. exclusion.You can add one or two
  24. jokers to the deck by clicking in the
  25. box beside JOKERS. You can only do
  26. this when the trumps are excluded, as
  27. the jokers are the first two trump
  28. cards. This is mainly for working with
  29. a regular playing deck, which you can
  30. make by excluding the trumps and one
  31. of the court cards (e.g. the
  32. Princesses) and then naming the suits
  33. and court cards accordingly (Hearts
  34. instead of Cups etc.). You can choose
  35. to use reversed cards in your layout
  36. by clicking in the box beside REVERSE
  37. until an asterisk appears. When this
  38. is selected cards may be reversed at
  39. random during the shuffle. This is for
  40. the method of determining card dignity
  41. depending on whether it is dealt right
  42. side up or reversed. All cards in this
  43. program are aligned the same so
  44. reversed cards will have a "R" on
  45. them. You will normally not use this
  46. if you have a spread loaded which has
  47. the compare option set, which is
  48. another method for determining card
  49. dignity (See SPREAD help). When you
  50. exit this dialog box the deck will be
  51. freshened if you clicked inside any of
  52. the inclusion boxes beside the suits
  53. etc. When you open a saved layout the
  54. deck will change to the way it was
  55. when that file was saved no matter how
  56. the card options are set in the box.

  58.  COLORS: Choosing this will allow you
  59. to change the program's various
  60. colors. A box will appear with the
  61. items that can be changed, which are:
  62. The color of the table top (the main
  63. screen color); The color of menu
  64. boxes; The color of the text in the
  65. menus; The color of the dialog boxes;
  66. The color of the text in the dialog
  67. boxes; The color of the deck frame,
  68. which shows up when all the cards are
  69. dealt. The deck frame color is also
  70. used for text which appears on the
  71. cards or deck. Look at each of these
  72. boxes to see what the current colors
  73. are and move the cursor onto the menu
  74. and dialog ones to see what
  75. highlighted items will look like.
  76. There are two ways of changing the
  77. colors. You can move the cursor onto
  78. the box of the item you want to change
  79. and instead of clicking on it, you can
  80. use the <Pgup> and <Pgdn> keys to
  81. cycle thru the colors. The color you
  82. see in the box is the unhighlighted
  83. color until you right-click to finish.
  84. You can also click on the box you want
  85. to change and then choose the color
  86. you want from the color table by left-
  87. clicking. When you exit, the screen
  88. will be redrawn with the new colors
  89. and with any dealt cards placed back
  90. in the deck in their original
  91. position.

  93.  SAVE SETTINGS: Choose SAVE to save
  94. the options set in the above two 
  95. commands. The settings of the Face-Up/
  96. Down and Deal-Top/Right/Left toggles
  97. in the DECK sub-menu are also saved.
  98. All these settings are saved in the
  99. file "Tarot.cfg". Delete this file to
  100. return to the default program
