Help on the items in the FILE menu.
* Open file
* Save file
* Quit Program
OPEN FILE: Choose this to open a
previously saved layout. A layout is
the positions of all the cards you
have dealt and the position of the
deck. Also saved in a layout is the
comment you can access from the SPREAD
submenu. When you open a layout all
the cards are positioned the way they
were when the layout was saved. When
you choose this command a dialog box
comes up with a list of files with the
'.T' extention. You can change the
wildcard above the file list by
clicking on it and then typing a new
one and then pressing enter. You can
change the path above the wildcard the
same way. You can choose a file with
the mouse or you can click on the top
line and type in the name, including
the path if it's not in the current
subdirectory. When you choose a file
with the mouse it will appear on the
top line with the full path. If the
wildcard is '*.*', subdirectories will
be shown including the '..', which is
above the current subdirectory. You
can move to these subdirectories by
clicking the cursor on them. You can
scroll thru the list of files with the
scroll bar or the <Home> and <End>
keys for one file at a time or the
<Pgup> and <Pgdn> keys for the full
length at a time or <Ctrl-Pgup> to go
to the top or <Ctrl-Pgdn> to go the
bottom. The box will hold the first
172 files matching the wildcard
specification. Once the name of the
file you wish to open is on the top
line click on OK or press <O> on the
keyboard. You can cancel by clicking
on CANCEL or pressing <Esc> or
right-clicking the mouse. You can
delete the file on the top line by
choosing <DELETE>. You will be
asked for confirmation to protect
against accidental erasure. You
will only be allowed to open valid
layout files.
SAVE FILE: To save a layout file use
the same procedures mentioned above.
The way the cards are currently laid
out will be saved as the file
appearing on the top line of the
dialog box. You may want to use the
COMMENT command in the SPREAD sub-menu
to type in a comment, which will be
saved as part of the file, before you
save the layout. You will warned if
you are about to overwrite a file that
already exists and asked for
confirmation. Once you have typed in
the name of the file you want to
create or chosen a file you want to
overwrite from the file list click on
OK or press<O> (not 0). If you do not
supply an extention for your file a
".T" will be appended. You need a
registered version to save layouts.
QUIT: Choose this to quit the
program. The way the cards are laid
out at the time you quit is
automatically saved in the file
"Deck.cfg". This file will be
automatically loaded when you next
start the program. You can also quit
by pressing <Alt-X> or holding down
all three mouse buttons if you have a
three button mouse. The Shareware
version will put up a registration
message; read it and then press a key
or mouse button to exit.
