1.0 Introduction
----------------
The Progress Report 3.0 is an easy to use tool for
creating, saving, printing and retrieving student progress
reports. It is designed to be used by the classroom teacher
with up to 5 different classes of 36 students each.
A teacher enters his/her own particular data
(schoolname, year, etc.). Classes are created and student
names are entered. A set of progress reports for that class,
is then created and saved. The set may be printed out in its
entirety or as individual reports. Each class can have up
to 8 different sets of reports.
The progress report features a selection of 28 preinstalled
comments. One additional individualized comment may be entered
for each student. Additionally, the instructor may elect to
enter up to 8 individual grades. They are then averaged
together.
A.P. Software assumes no responsibility or liability for
use of this program. All comments , suggestions and
enhancements for future versions should be sent to A.P.
Software at the above address.

entering a change, or ESC, the name remains unchanged and
control returns to the previous menu.
5.2.5 Delete a Student - A student number from 1-36
must be selected. If RETURN is hit without entering
a number, control returns to the previous menu.
ESC returns control to the previous menu.
The current name is then displayed. To delete,

If ESC or RETURN are hit, instead of Y/N, the deletion
is cancelled. Control is returned to the previous menu.
The verification question is always asked.
5.2.6 Return to Main menu - Class information is saved and
control returns to the main menu.
6.0 Create Progress Reports
---------------------------
User MUST select a class (1-5). Classes must be defined
prior to selection. See 5.1. ESC, RETURN or 9 will return
control to the Main menu.
6.1 Create New Reports - Allows user to create a full set
of progress reports for the selected class. Up to 8
different sets of reports can be created for each
class. If more reports are desired, the user must
delete an existing set. See 8.0.
Student names, from the selected class, are
automatically placed on screen. The user has 4 choices
for each name.
A-Accept name and create a report
R-Reject name and advance to next student
S-Save current entered information and complete
this report session another time.
ESC-Cancel all entries made for this set of reports
during this working session. A verification
question is asked before control is returned to
the class selection menu 6.0.
If A-Accept is chosen, comment numbers, grades and
individualized comments are then entered. Comment
selection is displayed on screen and allows a choice
of selections 1 thru 28. A maximum of 24 of the 28
comments may be selected, for any one progress report.
Hitting Return, with no comment # selection, completes
the entries for comments and advances to the Test Grade
option. ESC cancels the current entry and advances to a
data verification question.
The Test Grade option appears next. Up to 8 test grades may
be entered. These grades and their average will appear on the
progress report. Hitting Return, for grades 2 through 7,
without a grade entry or entering grade 8 advances to the
Teacher Comment. ESC cancels the current entry and advances
to the data verification question.
The last item to enter is the additional individualized
teacher comment. You may use up to 75 characters to create 1
individual comment for each student. RETURN advances to the
verification question. ESC cancels the current entry and
advances to the data verification question.
You are asked to verify the data. A "Y" continues
to the next student. A "N" allows you to re-enter the
data for the student you are currently working on.
This process is repeated for each student in the
selected class.
If R-Reject is chosen, no report is generated for this
student and the next student name is retrieved.
If S-Save is chosen, all current entered data is saved,
and control passes to the previous menu. This data may
be retrieved at a later time to continue the process of
creating reports.
When all students in a class have been utilized for a
set of reports, the report data is automatically saved.
The current date is used to identify this set of
reports.
All data from the initial set up, except school and
teacher name, is saved along with the student data.
This allows the user to retrieve and reprint these
reports exactly as they were created. Future reports
can have different initial set ups, not affecting
previously created reports.
6.2 Continue With Previous Set of Reports - Allows user
to complete a previously started, but incomplete, set
of reports. The report status of each of the 8 report
sessions is displayed and a selection of 1-8 for
continuation must be made. RETURN , ESC or 9 returns
control to the previous menu. The incomplete session
are identified by INC preceeding the date. All
completed sessions are identified by date only.
Once a session is selected, the program resumes the
process of creating new reports (6.1), starting where
it left off due to a previous S-Save. When all students
in a class have been utilized for a set of reports, the
report data is automatically saved. The current date is
used to identify this set of reports.
