INSTRUCTIONS:
THIS PROGRAM SIMULATES A FOOTBALL GAME, LETTING YOU COACH YOUR DREAM TEAM.
THE COMPUTER CAN COACH ZERO, ONE, OR BOTH SIDES.
GAME LENGTH:
IN THIS GAME A PERIOD IS 1 TO 15 MINUTES LONG. WHEN PROMPTED FOR THE PERIOD
LENGTH, YOU MAY SIMPLY HIT THE <ENTER> KEY TO GET THE DEFAULT LENGTH OF
4 MINUTES.
THE TWO TEAMS:
TEAM 1 ALWAYS KICKS OFF IN THE FIRST HALF, TEAM 2 IN THE SECOND. UNLIKE REAL
GAMES, THE TEAMS DO NOT SWITCH SIDES EVERY QUARTER.
ENTERING TEAM NAME:
ENTER THE NAME AS TWO PARTS, E.G., 'DENVER' THEN 'BRONCOS'.
DESIGNING YOUR TEAM:
BEFORE THE GAME STARTS, YOU ASSIGN POINTS TO THE OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE
SQUADS OF YOUR TEAM.
OFFENSIVE SQUAD:
YOU GET 25 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE AMONG THE FOLLOWING (AT LEAST 1 POINT EACH):
1. ABILITY TO PASS
2. ABILITY TO RUSH
3. ABILITY TO KICK
DEFENSE SQUAD:
YOU GET ANOTHER 25 POINTS TO DISTRIBUTE AMONG THE FOLLOWING (AT LEAST 1 POINT
EACH):
1. PASS DEFENSE
2. RUSH DEFENSE
3. SPECIAL TEAM DEFENSE
CALLING PLAYS:
1. OFFENSE. SELECT PASS (P), RUSH (R), KICK A PUNT (K), OR KICK FOR FIELD
GOAL (F).
2. DEFENSE. SELECT PASS DEFENSE (P) OR RUSH DEFENSE (R).
WHEN DEFENDING A KICKOFF OR FIELD GOAL KICK, SPECIAL TEAMS GO INTO
EFFECT AUTOMATICALLY; YOU STILL HAVE TO CALL A DEFENSE ON A PUNTING
SITUATION.
TIMEOUTS:
YOU GET 3 TIMEOUTS FOR EACH HALF IN REGULATION, AND 2 MORE IN OVERTIME.
TO CALL TIMEOUT, TYPE "T" FOR YOUR OFFENSIVE OR DEFENSIVE PLAY.
GAME STATISTICS:
THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE SCOREBOARD SHOWS THE FOLLOWING STATISTICS:
RUSHING STATISTICS: RUSHES, RUSHING YARDS, FUMBLES
PASSING STATISTICS: COMPLETIONS, ATTEMPTS, INTERCEPTS

FIRST DOWNS
TOTAL YARDS (RUSHING YARDS + PASSING YARDS)
FUNCTION KEYS:
SOUND EFFECTS TOGGLE: FUNCTION KEY F1 TOGGLES THE SOUND EFFECTS ON AND OFF.
MODE CONTROL: FUNCTION KEY F2 CONTROLS THE MODE, DETERMINING WHO WILL COACH
EACH TEAM, THE COMPUTER OR THE KEYBOARD:

TO CHANGE THE SCREEN BORDER COLOR (COLOR MONITORS ONLY): HIT FUNCTION KEY F10.
TO DISPLAY THESE INSTRUCTIONS: HIT FUNCTION KEY F5.
GAME SPEED CONTROL: FUNCTION KEY F3 DECREASES, AND F4 INCREASES THE DELAY
BETWEEN COMPUTER TURNS. THE VALUE OF THIS DELAY, IN SECONDS, IS DISPLAYED ON
THE BOTTOM LINE OF THE SCREEN.
TO SKIP THE STARTUP SHOW: HIT THE <ENTER> KEY TWICE INSTEAD OF ONCE WHEN
RUNNING THE PROGRAM FROM DOS.
