  21.         Research Data Filer Convert (RDFC) makes it easier for researchers
  22.         to use the powerful focus and sort routines that are part of the
  23.         RDF program.  There are important differences between the RDF and
  24.         Family Records program.  A researcher would need to use the focus
  25.         and sort routines in both programs to appreciate the difference. 
  26.         The RDF program makes it easy to browse through records, find
  27.         family relationships and then GEDCOM only the records wanted into
  28.         the Family Records database.

  30.         Perhaps one of the best ways to use RDFC is for the conversion of
  31.         GEDCOM files down-loaded from the International Genealogical Index
  32.         (IGI).  All records with a certain surname can be down-loaded onto
  33.         a disk to be run through this program.  RDF can then be used to
  34.         browse through those records to find individuals related to you.

  36.         Research Data Filer Convert will also allow the use of the RDF to
  37.         sort through GEDCOM files created from the Social Security Index,
  38.         the Viet Nam and Korean War Index, the Ancestral File and any
  39.         records that become available in the future.

  41.         RDFC will sort through GEDCOM files and find the parents of
  42.         individuals.  It will take each individual and family found in the
  43.         GEDCOM file and add them to the RDF database.  If RDFC finds the
  44.         parents for an individual, they will be written in the
  45.         relationship field for each event for that individual.
