  20.         The descendants charts produced by FR and PAFUTIL are woefully
  21.         inadequate. Particularly annoying is the abbreviation of dates
  22.         (born BEF 1988 becomes 1988 etc.) and names: with long surnames,
  23.         all given names sometimes reduce to a single initial.  Dave Hurd
  24.         wrote a program which was a vast improvement, and which has now
  25.         been rewritten to display more information and also do `cascading
  26.         descendants charts.'  This option displays all of an individual's
  27.         blood relations with spouses, printing one descendants chart for
  28.         each ancestral couple (parents, both sets of grandparents, four
  29.         sets of grandparents, and so on, if present in the database).

  31.         Additional features enable CASCADE to print basic information for
  32.         all the blood relations of any individual in the PAF data base.
  33.         The cascading pedigree charts option in PAFUTIL prints pedigree
  34.         charts with all of the individual's ancestors; it also has an
  35.         option to print a family group record for each ancestral couple.
  36.         The cascading descendants charts option in this program instead
  37.         prints a descendants chart for each of these couples.

  39.         Duplication is avoided by indicating under the parent on the
  40.         grandparents' chart which descendants chart contains (starting on
  41.         its first page) the parent's own descendants, rather than
  42.         reproducing these three times (on the parents' own chart, and on
  43.         the chart of each set of grandparents); and so on for earlier
  44.         generations. This cross referencing also works for any family
  45.         which is doubly related to the root individual. The second time
  46.         the family is encountered, a message is printed referring to the
  47.         page/chart where that family and its descendants are printed.
