  26.         AHNDES creates both ahnentafel and descent type charts from your
  27.         PAF data.

  32.         AHNDES is a PAF utility used to create charts of both the
  33.         Ahnentafel and Descent types.  It will handle data base sizes up
  34.         to 52 generations and up to the 99,999,999 individual records.

  36.         The descent chart uses a direct line from any ancestor of the base
  37.         RIN and does not consider siblings or other marriages. It will
  38.         make the appropriate change to a new surname when a female
  39.         descendant is married.  The ancestor is selected by either entring
  40.         or searching (surname and first given name) for an RIN.  The
  41.         descendant is selected the same way. The descendant chart lists
  42.         the descendant, birth date and place, death date and place.  The
  43.         same data is included for the spouse.

  45.         The Ahnentafel chart is based upon a base RIN.  Ahnentafel numbers
  46.         are printed for easy identification of family lines.  Birth date
  47.         and place, death date and place are also listed.  If your
  48.         ahnentafel number is 1, it doubles for each generation.  This
  49.         would give your father a number of 2, your paternal grandfather a
  50.         number of 4, his father a number of 8, etc.  The wife of an
  51.         individual is given his number plus 1.  Therefore your mother
  52.         would be  number 3, your maternal grandfather would be 6, etc. 
  53.         This relationship can be seen in the chart printed by AHNDES and
  54.         is necessary to determine the family lines from the chart.

  56.         Both the Descent Chart and the Ahnentafel can be output to 
  57.         printer or saved to a disk file.  If output is to the printer it
  58.         is paginated with a left border sufficient for binding. If output
  59.         to a disk file, no margins or pagination is provided.
