This is Freeware, use at your own risk, although I've tested this
pretty thoroughly you never know....Included are many programs you
might find useful, 'The FED' offline file area manager, a user
editor, a node status screen, a recent callers viewer, transfer log,
syslog log and error log. 'FED' and 'USERED' are stand-alone programs,
to run the other programs run 'BOOM', Or press 'F8'.

1 - SETUP & INSTALLATION [READ!]
════════════════════════
Install this program on the SAME DRIVE as your BBS files and
specifically your AREADIR.* and dir files. Unzip contents of
zip into a SEPERATE directory pref. \BOOM, or use the INSTALL.BAT
»Copy your BBS config file Ex: setup.dat or config.bbs into
the BOOM directory. You have the option of entering some data
in the setup program. If you copied the bbs config over then
it's not necessary to input the info (except what BBS you run).
If you do input something then that will override what is in
your BBS config.
REQUIRED in Path: DOS 3.0 or higher
Optional: Supports Archives: Pkzip/ARJ/LHA
GIF Viewer Ex:VPIC (recommended)
MOD Player Ex:DMP (recommended)
VOC Player Ex:VPlay
External DOS Shell Ex: StupenDOS

FILE DIR CONVERSIONS

Select 'Convert File Dirs' on then Utility menu or type SETUP CONVERT
to Convert a file dir from one BBS to another BBS or version. File
will have to be converted one at a time (for now).

2 - FED FILE AREA MANAGER
═════════════════════════
FED is a full area manager, complete with many tools that enable a
sysop to get in an out FAST. List dirs, tag files for moving or
deleting them safely!, sort Dirs, Adopt files, view internal zips
and read text files or view ANSI's internally. (Helps you find out
what the hell you got)
Following are commands available and a brief description:
Cursor - Use up & down cursor arrows, <PgUP> and <PgDn> to move
around the file directory.
F8 - Run the Boomer's Utilities Menu.
Esc - Change File Conference.
A - Change File Area.
C - Shows free space on all drives.
G - Shells and runs the GIF viewer for the file directory.
(if setup in config)
P - Process a file (run COMMENT.BAT) already online.
Including FILE_ID.DIZ processing.
R - View actual directory of file path, use cursor arrows,
<PgUp>, <PgDn> to scroll thru the dir.
<Enter> - Goes into or out of a recursive directory.
<Space> - Views text files or GIFs, plays MODs of VOCs,
or views archive (ZIP/ARJ/LHA's)
<D> - Change Directory path, even non-BBS paths
<S> - Run external DOS Shell (if configed in setup)
S - Sorts file directory by Name or Date.
T - Toggles display information on the screen. In default
mode it displays Date uploaded and size when toggled shows
uploader, # DL's and points.
-> W - Adopt files not listed - Compares what is in actual
directory and in file listing. Press <Esc> or 'Q' at any
time to abort search. You'll be prompted on each file
found whether you want to adopt it. 'Q' Aborts function.
'D' Deletes file from the drive. File points are
calculated from either you BBS config or data entered in the
setup program. If a FILE_ID.DIZ file is found, it will be
displayed. You have the option of using all (Y), none (N)
or partial (R)ange of the FILE_ID.DIZ. Ex: (3..6)
If 'COMMENT.BAT' resides in your FED directory the
file will be checked for CRC errors and add your zip
comment named 'COMMENT.CMT'. The batch file can be
edited to your liking of course. Variable's passed are
%1 -Full path %2 - Extension without period
V or Z - View file, if its a text file, or GIF (if viewer defined)
it will display the the file to screen. If the file is a
archive (.ZIP/.LHZ/.ARJ) you will view the archive directory,
use the cursor arrows to move up and down, these are
available commands in the archive viewer:
<X> - Extract a file to desired path.
<V> - Scrollable Ansi/Text viewer, press 'M' inside
viewer to toggle 43/50 line mode.
* If the file is a .GIF, .PCX, .PIC, or .BMP it will
be displayed by the GIF viewer (if defined)
<P> - Play .MOD or .VOC inside the archive (if .MOD
and .VOC players have been defined in Setup)
<Space/T> - Type a file, ANSI's are displayed without more
prompts.
Q or <Esc> - Exits Program
FILE EDITING
────────────
<ENTER> - When a dir is displayed you can edit JUST the description
by moving the cursorbar over the filename and pressing enter.
E - Full Edit mode, Allows the sy to edit filename, uploader,
path, # of #, uploads, Group, Disk # of #, Send to, # DL's
and up to a 10 line file description. Some supported
BBS's do not yet have all the features available yet (Need
info)
Ctrl-X - Deletes a complete line of text.
F3 - In Full Edit Mode you can press F3 to display an Extended Char
Set and Enter character such as ß≡░▒▓«» etc...
F5 - Copies or Clones the description of the file above and if
found increments the disk of # such as 1/2 or [2/2]. Very
handy for making nice clean dirs and when adopting files.
F6 - Read GIF - In Edit Modes it reads the GIF Header and inserts
the resolution at the far right of the screen. ex: [640x480]
F9 - Aborts editing and restores previous info.
F10 - Saves new data and exits back to dir
FILE TAGGING
────────────
SPACE - TAG a file for moving or deleting. Total bytes tagged is
displayed at the very top of the screen, [234k].
M - Moves all tagged files to the selected Directory. The
program will check for space and when moved check to see
if arrived safely before deleting. (Finally safe moves)
U - Untag ALL files tagged.
D - Delete all tagged files.

φ - Indicates a file is private, Use full Editor to
change status
- Indicates a file has been tagged.

3 - USER EDITOR
═══════════════
You can edit your users by:
1) All Users - Edit all active users.
2) By Level - Edit all users between a min & max set level.
3) Exact Handle - Edit users whose Handle exactly matches search string.
4) User ID - Edit all users, starting at entered ID number.
5) Handle - Edit all users starting with a partial search string.
6) Real Name - Edit all users by Real Name Ex: John or John K
7) User Note - Edit all users with key word in user note Ex:SYSOP
SCAN MODE:

The 1st matching record will be displayed, the following options are
available:
<PgUp> - Display Previous User
<PgDn> - Display Next User
<Enter> or E - Edit User
D - Delete Displayed User
<Esc> or Q - Quit to Menu
EDIT MODE:
─────────
In edit mode there are 4 edit screens, 1-User Info, 2-User Stats,
3-Conference Access & 4-User Flags. Use <PgUp>, <PgDn> or F Keys 1-4
to move between pages. Press F9 to abort input and F10 to save &
Exit.

4 - NODE STATUS
═══════════════
This screen allows you to monitor all nodes, it indicates what
activity and caller is. For Sound Blaster users, the node status
screen can use the SBTALKER software that comes with it. It will
announce each new caller and the time on the half hour. To use this
cheesy talking monitor edit the SBNODES.BAT file to meet your
specifications, the command line should be: BOOM SBNODES SBPath
Ex: BOOM SBNODES C:\SBPRO\SBTALKER

5 - DOS Viewer/Player Shell
═══════════════════════════
This utility is a type of Dos shell. The sy can move around his
BBS or non-BBS dirs and view text, GIFs, archives and even play
any MODs or VOCs. This is not intended to be an full professional
type of DOS Shell, that is left to an external DOS shell that can
be called at any time. (if defined in setup)
Use cursor arrows/<PgUp>/<PgDn> to scroll thru the dir.

This program should support almost any of the Forum type BBS's
with a AREADIR.* type setup, the Setup program feeds your BBS
file layout into the main program - so wam bam in 30 mins i can
add YOUR BBS software to the FED list. I still don't have all the
data for ARX or OBV/2 so if you can help with those let me know.
Also would like a Renegade, Telegard, Vision2 & LSD setups.
