NTKE - No Turbo Keys Merge for RBBS-PC 17.4
Copyright (c) 1992 By Benny P. Carr
Warranty
========
Surely you jest. There are no warranties, either expressed or implied. I
don't even guarantee it'll take up disk space. The entire risk of using
this merge is yours.
What Is It
==========
BC-NTKE1 is a set of merges that will turn off the ability to have Turbo Keys
in RBBS-PC 17.4. The new caller is not asked if they want them. The existing
user does not have the ability to toggle them On/Off. An existing user that
had Turbo Keys enabled will now find that they no longer have that ability.
If you do use this merge I might suggest that you post a news item of some
sort indicating that you have disabled them, else you have a bunch of people
out there wondering what's wrong.
What Did You Get
================
BC-NTKE1.DOC - Hopefully you got this cause your reading it.
R-PCNTKE.MRG - Merge file for RBBS-PC.BAS
RSB4NTKE.MRG - Merge file for RBBSSUB4.BAS
RSB5NTKE.MRG - Merge file for RBBSSUB5.BAS
DOIT.BAT - A batch file to .. well .. do it for you
How Do I Do It
==============
First put all the .MRG files in a directory with everything else you'd normally
need to merge or compile RBBS-PC 17.4.
Type "DOIT NTKE Y" (without the "") if you'd like to apply the merges and then
compile RBBS-PC.
Type "DOIT NTKE N" (again without the "") if you'd like to apply the merges and
not compile RBBS-PC.
In fact, you can use DOIT.BAT for any merges actually simply by replacing NTKE
with the merge name.
This merge is known to run when compiled with QB3.0. Any other compilers ....
well .. you're pretty much on your own.
Copyright
=========
Yes it is. These merges are Copyrighted and are the property of Benny P. Carr.
You may use them if you like. You may pass them around to your friends and
other BBS systems if you like. You may bundle this with a merge you may write
as long as proper credit is given for code I've done. If you make any changes
to my code at all then document it as such. Basically .... be a decent person
about it .. eh.
Who Am I
========
I'm Benny Carr and I am the SysOp of New Woodstk RBBS located in Bensalem, Pa.
Our phone number is 215-750-6670, and this is where you can obtain help, or
make suggestions concerning this merge or any others you may see that I have
done. These and other merges are an effort on my part at self-education in
the Basic language.
Thanks
======
Thanks go out to the authors and contributors of the RBBS-PC BBS package,
without whom I wouldn't be doing this.
Thanks to the members of the BusiLink Net (a network being developed in the
true spirit of RBBS-PC). I don't know which of you tried it, but those
that did. Thanks.
Thanks to my family .... many times they've wondered what kind of pleasure
I could be getting out of this. But they've let me do it.
